  1. I must of been asleep when everyone discussed huddersfields attendances. I've just checked out there prices and im amazed. The downside is their profit margin will be :censored: for each ST (year on year) but the fact they have all those fans buying food, drink, bets, shirts and an atmosphere is a winning formulae for their bank. They gambled and it's paid off - until they start loosing of course.

  2. the club should be sorting that, ive seen them on other clubs new grounds, they take like, a selection of photos every month, from the same angles to show how its progressing, its a good idea

Arsenal did it didnt they? And Wembley. I'm sure OAFC have thought of that one. If not they read it on here first!

I think a webcam would be mint - on the inside of the main stand pointing out to the lookers. They could put a tea-towel over it on Saturdays to stop people watching the match when the ball i up in the air - like when Tranmere come to play!

  3. Just called Ticket Office (Cut off 3 times and then rang out for 3 days as its soooo busy apparently).

The lady told me 700 ST sold for the RRE so far, one block almost sold out and the other has plenty of spaces at the front. When I asked what ale I could look forward to be supping she said "alcoholic! - that's all I know pet!".

    That'll do for me...

  4. As regards planning permission, every advert placed on such boards as that seen at the top of sheepfoot lane has to gain what is called a "decent exposure certificate", or be produced by a company holding a "certified publishing outlet" licence. Latics currently do not hold this licence, and to pass certain adverts through the decent exposure system takes time, and money, and each advert has to be processed individually, meaning you couldnt one week, adveretise oldham v mk dons, then the following week advertise oldham versus stockport. not under the same certificate anyway.

Have to say that the part about holding a license doesn't ring home with me. We have designed (inhouse) hundreds of billboard and Phonebooth ads owned by ClearChannel (one of the 5 biggest Billboard companies in UK) and never have we heard of such a license. We also haven't had to declare what we were advertising or the message it portrayed. The money involved you are correct on though, it's far too expensive to change the advert on weekly cycles - the production cost for a single advert is in the region of 1000 and then around 700 per additional billboard.

Also you are in competition for each billboard as big companies like vodaphone change the billboards they use to hit a wider audience. I don't think it would work. I think a helicopter with a banner circling Oldham all day and night with 2 stops for fuel would be more interesting. It could even carry news bulletins.

  5. If an offer comes in I do think he'll be gone but like Oldham Sheridan said yesterday, if one doesn't he is well within his rights to still be here.

We offered the deal and he took it.

Bet JP feels the love when he walks into pre season training next season then.

As for Parker I'm glad we didn't get him now, I still to this day want to wipe that smirk off his face for the playoff antics.
