  1. I do understand Corps concerns. And in a way I agree with him.

But the simple fact is that of those stadiums stated, 2 are heading for the Champioship, and 1 has someone who jsut wants to spend his money on his club.

Hull have a huge catchment area, but a good idea of building a big stadium, but have debts of £30m and £40m wage bill.

And if they get relegated, to the Championship.....

Wigan have a guy who just wnated to throw money at his club. without him, where would they be? We do not have that luxury.

And Bolton are repostedly £60million in debt. And they pay £40m a year in wages. In the Championship, maybe? In fact, Bolton is the way not to do it.

The sutainable approach is the best way. I do agree it consigns us into the lower leagues for a while but to say it is forever is ludicrous. It is a solid base to build.

The key is sustainabity, without that, and we are heading for oblivion faster than even Corps states.

Corp is advocating Gordon Browns Fiscal policy, spending other peoples money like there is no tommorow.

Not Boom and Bust; Bust, and Buster.

    Bravo that man.

  2. Woof what? It's a non-point really. I'm sure the club will try to sell our own struggle to get in the fourth division play-offs as success as well.

How they will laugh in Bolton, Burnley or Preston. If they notice anything at all.

The non-point being the one you originally made? At least have the humility to admit when you've posted something which contradicts every point you've ever made.

  3. So by saying Rochdale are set to 'leave us behind' you are saying that they are going to get promoted and will perform better than us in League 1? Which, to say we are looking at mid-table obscurity, will mean they will be making an assault on the play-offs? And by 'leave us behind' you surely ultimately mean they will achieve Championship status 'leaving us behind' in League 1?

That's a cracking achievement for a team that plays in a 10,000 capacity stadium and averages home attendances around the 2,500 mark. You'd led me to believe that teams like that are consigned to lower league football forever. Funny how the rules change when it's a team other than Oldham..

  4. Some of those most enthusiastic about the downscaling of the club are looking forward to a nice social life built around their little no-hope lower division club.

Not for nothing is some admiration for Rochdale evident on this board. Ironic when you think that Rochdale are set to leave us behind.

  5. Screw all this in peace malarky, lets waltz around the shed they call a football ground and pick up the three points like we did last season.

Either way its just another game, couldng really give two winks about oldham but I guess its more interesting than Yeovil away.

See you all in the white horse??? nice and early.

  6. Yeah the club know, its already been reported in the sun, the advertiser & the MEN also soccer AM want them as Soccerettes in december.

Gutted I wasn't mentioned in the video :(

Clearly I am just not keeping up with things. Good to know they're getting exposure, keep up the good work ladies.

PS. Can anyone post the links to the afore mentioned newspaper reports. Much obliged.

  7. I'm sure this has been suggested within the 32 pages of this thread but do the club actually know about these two girls? They've surely got to do a piece on them in a programme or something, those videos are the only bright spot in my Oldham Athletic supporting world at the moment.

My mates all support Blackburn or Burnley and one Wrexham and they think this whole thing is hilarious/brilliant, I bet there'd be a small media interest, maybe a piece on Soccer AM or something. Two LA glamour girls going nuts for Oldham Athletic for no real reason..surely..

  8. Had enough now, what a pile of crap we really are.

My thoughts exactly, I have too much going on in my life right now to be constantly dragged down by Latics. I'm bored and exhausted. I need a break. My mates are all Burnley and Blackburn fans as well and Saturday nights are getting to the stage I'm embarrassed to show my face. I'm sorry happy clappers, but: WE. ARE. SH1TE.

  9. Good to know that he isn't a fan of the anal rape of adolescent male goats, whose heads are being forced inch by inch into the mouths of anacondas. Whilst hordes of masked deformed freaks swarm around performing lewd dances and Dave Murray taps his staff from his dark throne, and Barry Ferguson kneels by his feet muttering curses and trying to eat his own feet. Whilst a heavy waft of burning sulphur and brimstone wafts across the air. And the Four Horsemen ride in, before deciding that they don't like the look of it and turning back. And Jamie Oliver turns up with a bag of goodies he bought from his mate down the local deli to cook for the after-party for Mick Hucknall and Blunt after their joint gig.

  10. Which would all be very well if it wasn't myself but you who'd predicted all the recent major events to happen at the club.

For example, it wasn't me who was arguing till blue in the face that the proposed redevelopment of BP was still on the cards only days before we were told it wasn't. I was the one who'd been predicting it would all come to nothing for some time.

Apart from that-you're right again, Magnus.

Corporal, I have to say when reading through these threads I find your comments generally the most compelling, I try my best to be optimistic but deep down I can't deny that you are articulating the thoughts I have, but try to ignore.

However, what I want to know is, how do we achieve what you consider to be progress? You have said before that it isn't your job to supply that answer which is true, but to be as vocal as you are you must have some ideas as to how the club could move forward. Otherwise, surely you must accept that we are destined for mediocrity for no other reason than we simply do not have any money (and a small fan-base), or at least the kind of money to mount a serious promotion push with survival in the Championship a minimum expectation.

I know our marketing is a joke (that we don't even have a small billboard stating who our next home game is against is beyond inept) but bar finding a generous tycoon what can we do? I genuinely respect your opinion and would like to here some suggestions, even if they're just fleeting thoughts.

    Cheers, doggy_oafc.
