  1. Is anyone else going to Wembley tonight?

I'll be there, booked the tickets before the World Cup, and probbaly wouldn't have done if I'd waited til afterwards, but hey ho.

We'll be supporting the team, but am tempted to boo Rooney, no one else. how can he be so good for man utd and then look so disinterested and lethargic in the biggest competition in the world for his country?

If someone asked me to play for england at 2am on the moon, I'd be there. It should be an honour , what's with all these players who are now announcing their retirement from international football? Robinson, Brown etc.

  2. Great post prozac.

I've renewed my season ticket and also got one for my 4 year old son, who doesn't know much about footbal yet, but loves Chaddy. A future fan, for the long term like me.

Now is the time for as many of us to back the club to show the one amigo that we want our club to surivive and get back where it belongs.

Dickov will be up for it, and if we get a good start let's hope the fans get behind us, and who knows what we can achieve.

There's a lot of clubs in out league with bigger budgets, more and on paper better players. But we don't play on paper and if we get the spirit that there used to be with the players and the fans we can improve together, and get back to enjoyable football and a winning team.

If you build a pitch (or whatever) they will come.

  3. Antoine Courier is a nomad , but he's scored goals most places he's been, bit of a long shot?

196 games 87 goals, though half of them in Scandinavia somewhere.

  4. Difficult one, as I've been going to Latics since '68 and to Wembely, and around the country and europe since '96 with England , so I'm a newbie England fan.

England winning the world cup is once a lifetime, and will be great for the nation and all who sail in her.

Latics winning promotion is less likely, though great for the town, and all us who've had to put up with some poor fair recently.

Close call, but it's Latics for this one.

  5. In my opinion the best by far is the China Village in Delph in the centre. Not been since before Christmas, but the food is the best chinese you'll get anywhere. They're also kid friendly, the owner Steve does the cooking and his wife Julie serves, and you often see their 2 kids there too. My son who is 3 loves going there, and enjoys the shiu mai, prawn crackers and has a go at eating with chopsticks.

  6. Taylor's an enigma. Can be great, and can be very frustrating in the same minute.

There's something not right with him, and I don't just mean an injury.

I was sat near him in the main stand against Leeds, he was with rubes and eardley, and he hardly watched the game, spent most of his time on his iphone, asking for the password for internet from the press row, and chatting with the others, no emotion at anything to do with the game.

He was alos at a chaddy's gang christmas or end of season party a year or two back, and didn't have anything to do with the kids, unlike allott who brought his kid along and went on the climbing stuff with chaddy and joined in.

  7. I've been to London today, for work, and spoke to a Charlton fan, who said he's the best goalie they've seen there all season and without him we would have lost by a few goals in the recent game.

I checked his eyesight of course....

I like Brill, but he does drop (!!) some clangers, and must now expect every team with a free kick from around 25 yards out to try and beat him on his near post, as 3 or 4 have already done so this season.

  8. My first game was around '67 or '68 when I was four in the old broadway stand with my Gramp, hooked and been ever since. First game I remember was around 69 or so when we lost at home v South shields in the cup.

I'm carrying on the tradition, my daughter started in 00/01 v Blackpool at home aged 9, when we drew 1-1 scored in the last minute to send them down. Has a season ticket with me in RRE.

My son, aged 3 went to his first game last week, loves Chaddy Owl and enjoyed the game, and running up and down each row. He's interested which is a good start, I'm not going to push him, but he'll be hooked like the rest of us...

He even says 'red is bad', where did he get that from?

  9. Heres an idea for you.....

How about i let you be Chaddy for one game. You show me exactly what you want me to do whilst not getting to watch your beloved team, not getting paid to sweat your tatters off. Then, when you have done what you consider to be entertaining and the GMP have battered seven shades out of you with trunceons and the club have banned you for life for inciting a riot at least we will all get a rest from the drivvle you spout constantly as you will be locked up in a 12 x 12 cell getting some man love off someone called big derek and you wont be allowed near a computer for the next 12 months

    Well said Chaddy.

My 3 year old son thinks you're brilliant, and only wants to come to the games now because of you. Come up all the good work.
