I quote from the original post in this thread (updated re pub opening times):

Near to the tube station is the Eight Bells (open from 10am) which is popular with away fans. The Temperance (open from 12 noon) is only a few minutes’ walk away from the Eight Bells walk up to the main road and turn right. The Temperance is across the road (Fulham High Street) on the corner and has food on offer (burgers, hot dogs, chips, etc). Opposite the Temperance on the same road is the King's Arms (open from 12 noon), which is also popular with visiting supporters.

The Crabtree (open from 12 noon) on Rainville Road (10 minutes’ walk from the ground) welcomes away supporters. To find this pub go along Stevenage Road away from the Cottage and the away end. On reaching the home end of the ground, turn left along an alley which runs behind the stand. When you reach the River Thames, turn right and walk along the riverside path. You will reach the Crabtree on your right. This pub is also just under 20 minutes’ walk from Hammersmith tube station.

On the opposite side of the Thames to the ground is the Rocket (open from 8am), a Wetherspoon’s pub. From the Putney Bridge tube station go on up to the main road, then cross the Thames via Putney Bridge. Over on your left you will see a semi-circular tower located on the riverfront. The Rocket is located at the bottom of this tower. Once over the bridge look for the path on the left taking you down to the river bank and walk along from there. Along the riverbank from the Wetherspoon’s is the Boathouse (open from 12 noon), a Young's pub which is also frequented by visiting supporters.

If arriving at Putney overground railway station, there is a Wetherspoon’s virtually opposite the station entrance called the Railway (open from 12 noon).

Thanks mr Sideburns, I had read your post! Honest👍

I appreciate that and just venting my frustration so will let them off for today. However, I still stand by my comment of the ticket office being a shambles. Every time I’ve dealt with them recently it’s never been easy. Sometimes it’s almost as if they don’t want to sell tickets!!

My online, twitter and phone contacts with the ticket office has always been excellent.

OK, miserable twat here. I spent 2 hours on the road - far less than most who travelled from Oldham to be fair - and forked out £23 for a match that was absolutely devoid of entertainment.

It was obvious after 15 mins that Swindon were a distinctly average team and that with just a hint of ambition 3 points were there for the taking. With COG and Miller up front - Bunn and Rhodes would hardly have been less mobile - we never looked like scoring.

This is not good enough. The other 411 who travelled today deserve to be entertained (I don't get to many games these days, so will take the punishment). Much more of this and, God help me, I'll be tempted to side with Kusunga, Archie & co.

I don’t get to many matches either,I feel your pain Owll. However, when I get back from a game and Mrs 4oaks asks me about my day I always say I loved it,  and I usually say the game was dreadful.

The physical action of supporting the team is what I enjoy, the standard of football or style is not really relevant any more. we are very small team in a very poor league,  We need to understand that the players are, on the whole , fairly average ( that’s why they play for Oldham) . Themamagement team too are not in the Klopp bracket ( that’s why they manage at league 4  level) but their hearts are in the right place. As long as Bunn et al get the players collecting points and more or less on the right path that’s all I can expect.

the other thing that I now understand - but it has taken me years .... the players will never really care as much as me . It’s their job.

I go to the football because I love it, it’s a release which I couldn’t live without. I’m can appreciate good football I love watching it too....but I support Oldham !

You must be good at standing up to yourself so.

Just trying to challenge a few people’s views and make them realise that those comments are outdated and unacceptable.

If I don’t call them out those views will proliferate and been seen as the norm by the younger generation and then we will get no- where .

sometimes a line has to be drawn, if someone says something racist or sexist it’s up to us to say no , think again , just because it’s funny does not mean it’s right.

I know what decade it is it is and I am 41. I’ve grown up.

If you miss the point as spectacularly as I think you have, I’m sorry for you.

If you are a wind up merchant, you need to find new things in life to do.

    Ffs I’m 50.

i haven’t missed the point at all.

Race is a massive issue in Oldham, that is very clear . Just looking at the away support at ?Northampton, the was not a single Asian face - such a shame,

any pisstaking of  women or homosexuals is wrong, in the footballing environment it just reinforces the idea of the dick head supporter which we aren’t !

Im not a wind up merchant, just an intelligent person that stands up to people who spout shite

    I'm not angry, I'm disappointed...

    Actually that is almost true.

We haven't been at the races for some time. Not fired up at all. I noted a few times that RW was blaming the players a fair bit, not holding back and I think that was a key factor in our downfall and for me why I think we need an experienced old hand with form for getting out of this division.

The rookie will only work 1 time in 10.

I’m very worried about the club. The new owner worries me I fear an orient scenario.

get the odd old hand,-gerrard? - a young (local ? ) lads  in who want to give it a go

id rather see that happen than a stream of useless loanees and disappear without a whimper like Hartlepool

  7. I’m even angrier today than yesterday.

the team were just not at the races yesterday

Edmundson and Hamer excepted they should all leave th3 club with their tails between their legs no heart no passion, no skill, no talent, The level of footballing ability was minimal which you expect at this level but it’s the total lack of passion that does it for me,

when you see a crowd like ours it’s not hard to say their aren’t many millionaires it’s takes lots of money, time, effort , planning and fucking passion to go to a game... those players are not worthy of that.
