  1. Somebody texted GMR tonight and said "we need a young manger" - we had one... that didn't work, so we went for an old one and that hasn't worked. Sacking managers rarely solves a problem in situations like this. It was right to sack Sheridan. Joe's had three games to not only get back into the playoffs but also to undo the mess left by Sheridan. No manager is ever going to achieve that in three games. Next season does start now with the youngsters being played and gaining valuable experience for next season. Let's start looking forward to promotion next season, that's if we don't get it this year!!!
  2. Call me Nostradamus!!! This was no surprise really was it? It'll be a case of Lee Who-ghues on Saturday when we get three points. Wembley here we come!!
  3. Yes, I was there. I was one of the merry band. Even if he was injured the change that the two subs brought about was quite impressive. It really did appear that everybody else felt able to play more freely. If he's injury free on Saturday maybe he should start on the bench? Give him a bit of desire.
  4. Was Lee Hughes injured tonight? He stormed off down the tunnel when subbed tonight and the team looked like a weight had been lifted from their shoulders when he went off. They played a hell of a lot better without him. Is he a disruptive influence on the team???
  5. A very good evaluation of the state of things at BP. I too haven't been one to jump on the "Sack Sheridan" bandwagon, however after today's result I'm jumping aboard. Results are inconsistent and we're fortunate to have stayed in the top six as we've only stayed there as other results have gone our way and the teams around us have all had several games in hand on Latics. It was a false position all that time. It would be the gentlemanly thing to do to wait until the end of the season for Sheridan to go, however if he goes now, (reading between the lines of Sheridan's post-match report today it suggests he's expecting to go) we can but hope for a decent run of results which may get us into the playoffs as an in-form team. Sorry John, Thanks for everything you've done but I think it's time to move on.
