im not sure but thats what i was thinking. could be the big target man we need.

him with clarke cud be a great partnership on paper

within my circle of latics fans a lot of my mates have been worrying that we wont have the funds to build a squad good enough to mount a REAL play off push (not another good start and then a xmas drop off).

but looking and watching SSN daily i have been shocked at the amount of players leaving their clubs, and the amount of times i have thought .. " wunt mind him down at BP"

So just wondering if you have seen any players who we could get in on a free who i might have missed???

Is it me or is Lee Hughes out of his depth at the moment? His touch is a mess, he doesn't seem to be getting any shots away and he looks sluggish!

 

Also Lee, sometimes you have to move to the ball, it doesnt always come to your feet!!

 

 

Or am I being harsh on our 18 goal striker?

so i am not the only latics fan who noticed that!!!

Effectively ends the season for us I feel.... Any distant hope now fully gone....

what a stupid quote....if he aint scoring goals(which at the moment he aint) he gives us nothing. he gets booked a lot, if offside alot and stands behind his man instead of getting to the front post like all good goalscorers do alot. all we have done all year is play hughes with someone else.. Maybe he is the problem.. look at who we have had here.. byfield, ormerod, kabba, windass... all good strikers at this level ( not to mention davies and o'grady and allesandra) an ok they were awful when they were here but maybe it is because of him??? he never came in for the stick like all the rest of them did ... personally i think allesandra and kabba will be a good partnership.

Good point. i just cannot see him leaving if he gets us up or even close to it. He will get the bug again and wont be able to leave. definatly like to see he advising a young, promising manager though.

I am under the assumption that joe will only be here until the end of the 08/09 season.

If so who will we bring in? I personally think that they will go for someone younger, Dowie? Ritchie? Gannon? with Royal in an advisory role?

My mate is a goalkeeper for the youth team at City and he said that we made an "Approach" for Vladimir Wiess..

You might remember him from the youth cup final last year and he scored a free kick. Looked class.

would have thought a bit more experience for this time of the year, someone whos been there and done it???
