  1. Never realised that there was footage from the game of the fire. Unbelievable scenes.

As a side thought though, as that stand was coming down one thing that stood out to me was the images of Police charging back into drag people out or putting themselves at the back of the queue out of there.

Although that in no way mitigates the performance at Hillsborough, it does maybe show the other side of the coin when it comes to Police behaviour back in those days.

  2. Each to their own, I thought he was quick but naff. Lacked the courage to put himself into 50-50s and generally didn't do enough with the assets he undoubtedly has.

When he came on against Bradford though he looked electric- if he can channel those performances more often then he'll do well. Just didn't see it enough for mine

  3. He looks tired to me - possibly a result of playing in every game including all the JPT ties. Plus he's not missed a single period through injury.

Performances short of what they were at the start of the season for me, but that doesn't mean he's playing badly per se. For me he is just capable of more, but I would still say that he is performing as well as anyone else.

  4. WTF?! Avoiding providing an answer? Are you disputing some were rude?Did you expect a line by line reply to the questions?Barry is arranging a meeting, hopefully with the manager and chairman. The third such meeting. That's a luxury most fans don't get. I really do not expect SC & LJ justifying the decisions. They would be mad too.Let results speak for themselves.

There is no information but instead there is an exculpatory fob off. Some people were rude, but they do not justify a blanket refusal to answer any points.

  5. well when he has to put up with 'playground comment's as you put it, from some of our immature fans I don't :censored:ing blame him and wouldn't blame him if he didn't comment at all

Really? Is his role not to be a representative for the fans with all that entails?

Also, why does rudeness give the right to ignore the quite polite and reasoned original post.

  6. Given the rude manner of some posters I do not want to try and enter into a resonable debate on the points raised. There are very good reasons why the transfers in question have gone ahead.

What I will do is arrange for the manager to have one of our meetings sooner than we might have anticipated and we can tackle your areas of concern.

I will also try and arrange for Simon Corney to be present and perhaps those who have made some unfortunate remarks might want to consider attending and making your points in person to him.

We all enjoy healthy debate on matters affecting our club.!!!!!!!!

    Barry

    Quite outrageous comment.

I am appalled that you feel the right to hide behind a playground comment such as that to avoid providing an answer Barry - that is beneath you.

Maybe you should look at providing meaningful information to the supporters who put you on the board and they wouldn't react with such cynicism.

  7. :censored: me we have the most negative fans in the country. Get a grip man, we have a young manager with a new team and our only real problem this season has been scoring goals

Hmmm, that's bollocks. We also have a problem conceding :censored: goals and gifting a quality chance a game to the opposition.

As for getting a grip - do me a favour and piss off. If we put out that first half consistently this season we will go down with a whimper.

  8. Philiskirk did okay tonight, as did the wide players and Rooney for my money. What they lacked was end product for the work they were doing.

On Rooney's performance in particular; he did struggle, but the plan had him playing as a lone figurehead against a powerful backline who were able to play incredibly deep after they got their noses in front. My change would've been JCH for Philiskirk in the second half to give us two targets to aim for and increase the chances of catching them out.

Delivery from wide was okay at times, but in the second half particularly we did too little to get across the front of their defenders or the keeper.

  9.

I saw the replay on the telly numerous times and it looks like I'm going to have to have another few looks, cos I don't think he got near it.

Ball or man? It looked to me, both in real time and watching replays, like he touched neither. Lino wanted to give it as soon as Davies got in front.

Spineless officiating and blatant cheating from the striker don't add up to good forward play for me...

That said, should never have gone near him in the first place.
