Westlake would be an excellent signing and Joe will know exactly what to expect from him.
-
So he is not on trial then
-

From what I'm told this is "100%" true (and it comes from a source within BP). For my part I hope it isn't true as I like Shez.
-
There is absolutely nothing in it for Hughes to sign a contract with a get out clause at the end of the season.
A substantial increase in salary to end of the season?
-
Lets have a poll in any event - would you have Kilkenny back - yes or no.
-
If Kilkenny came back our chances of promotion would increase considerably.
-
I can't believe people are calling for Shez's head. He is doing a fantastic job on the budget given to him. He strives to play football the right way and commands immense respect from the players. He is also excellent in giving our young players a chance in the first team. Stop throwing bricks at him or we will get another Ronnie Moore/Brian Talbot etc etc etc.

Can't wait to give him a good reception!!

Notts Forest, Huddersfield and Leeds have apparently now made offers to Windass.

Is the Hartlepool move a done deal?
What about this:-

Davies was a target for Blackpool when Grayson was in charge.
-
Heard on Radio Leeds yesterday that Hughes had been offered "triple wages" from Doncaster.

"However, almost all the fall is covered by the fact that Oldham's 982-strong travelling support far outnumbered the combined total of away fans at Brunton Park so far this season."
yeah until Leeds came to town and took 3000 !

Now that Jones is here there is no point in pursuing Demar - Taylor is on fire and Jones is a better left back (and can play midfield). We then have Lomax and Lee in reserve.
-
Greegs was man of match according to both Shez and McAllister.
-
May have been mentioned before - but does this chap need to play a certain number of games to maintain his work permit?
-
Been speaking to my brother in law who is a fanatical Leeds fan. He tells me Westlake is a great creative midfielder and he can't believe he no longer features in McAllister's plans.
-
what - no Allott? its a ratting heresy
-
It really is a risk with players at that age - and I think I'd rather let rich clubs take it.
We keep them and they may not develop any further than Div 3 standard and we get very little for them (plus costs in the meantime). Let them go for £250K or thereabouts plus sell or appearance bonus etc, and we are the beneficiaries.
Great talent at 16/17 just doesn't necessarily convert into great talent a few years on.
Absolutely agree - e.g. whatever happened to the young lad we sold to Everton?
-
Indeed Eddie. When push comes to shove, the determining factor is that if a bigger club comes in we would not stand in his way (a la Trotman). Most managers in our division have a gentleman's agreement with their players that they will not obstruct a move to a bigger club.

How many people actually saw the 2 finger salute? From where I was sat (behind him in the main stand) it looked as though he was simply making the figure of a mouth talking with his hand (i.e. to signify stop yapping).
-
Allott or McDonald to play alongside KK- a difficult call as both are playing well - isn't this precisely the selection headache that will drive us on?

It seems Joe likes his personality (see Latics World interview). Could this have an impact on his selection?
