  1. They're not threatened by darts - but they are threatened if you show them a pictorial representation of something in the world, like a man throwing a spear at a mammoth.

There's a south London train contingent. Nervous Tic and I are getting on at Bromley South - the Victoria to Gillingham slow train goes through there. Slow train means quality time with cans of lager and probably less time in Gillingham.

Has Nervous_Tic become a member of the People's Front of South London? :redcard:

  2. I really do hope Holden delivers a result today - 3-0 or similar. Johnson was a good manager for us but overdid all the PR spin and obviously thought he was much better than us.

Back to basics though today. Let the team do the talking rather than the manager.

    Well a 3-0 you wanted.. a 4-0 you got.

  3. Schmeltz? something was said about his lifestyle choices.

I had a brief chat a while ago with a Dutch journalist who almost wet himself when I told him I was an Oldham fan - apparently Sidney Schmeltz was public enemy number one in Holland after he conducted himself like an absolute ballbag. Got busted slagging off a club who had gone bust and left him a bit short of cash: slagged off the town, the fans, the staff.

Sloped off to England after a payday, was rubbish. Isn't he at Shrewsbury now?

  4.

I don't see how. Barry did give a strong if illiterate victim statement prior to sentencing in that trial. And there is a case for saying that the bucket shake money is gone. I don't think Frankly is alleging fraud, just really poor management.

Even if he was alleging fraud, which he isn't to be fair, I can't see Blatter managing to do anything about it. The uselss fecker can't even file accounts.

    Seven years?! SEVEN.

    Due diligence my hole.

  5. I've seen mentioned, a few posts earlier, the recent traffic trouble on the way to Fleetwood. There's currently roadworks at the junction of the A585 and the A586 - Windy Harbour - but according to the rarely-read Blackpool Gazette, the roadworks shouldn't be as disruptive from today onwards:

  6. The ticket arrangements for our first ever league trip to Fleetwood Town have been announced today: Season Ticket holders get priority on production of Voucher C.

    Two big questions here:

    1. Will there be any left for us OASIS folk once the Northerners have had their fill?

    2. Is there going to be an official OASIS train?

Virgin are supposedly re-introducing the Euston>Blackpool direct train at some point in Decemeber, but Nationalrail.co.uk isn't showing any direct trains at all. Also, the last train back from Blackpool (changing at Preston) is 19:21, which stinks.

Anyone else fancy this game? Blackpool is (unfortunately) the town I grew up in, so I'm quite keen.

  7. It would never happen, but the only way I could see it accommodating all of our players is if we didn't play a striker and instead put Forte on the left wing, Winchester/Poleon on the right and had Philliskirk in the number 10 role, without a number 9. That's the only way I could see it suiting Poleon and Forte.

More likely, we drop Philliskirk, replace him with Jabo and play wingers again. That or we revert to dropping a defender, but that way it would require Jones sitting back again, which would disrupt his form in that slightly more advanced midfield role of late, and bit of tracking back for Forte, and you wouldn't want your main attacking threat having defensive responsibilities.

A 4-3-3 with a false nine, at Boundary Park? I'm not sure what the Main Stand folk would make of that.

    I'm in, for the record.

  8. No replies in this thread for a while but:

Just been having a look at train times for after the game and the last train from Manchester Piccadilly to Euston is 20:35.

Outbound tickets are four quid cheaper if you travel up before 10am.

    Branson is a knobber.
