  1. I'm sorry but that is absolute bollocks.

I genuinely can't remember if he was good OR bad - just that in my mind he was rubbish. The early 2000s were my first forays to Boundary Park; the only players I remember fondly from that time are Eyresy/Carss/Corazzin. I can barely remember the rest of that team playing, think I've managed to block most of it out

  2. Rodney Jack was never here! St Vincent and the Grenadines was it?

Shaun Garnett?! Hush your mouth young one, you are talking tripe. Rearguard stalwart.

One of my first Latics memories is how much I disliked Garnett. In my mind he's the worst centre-half we've EVER had. On a par with Lord N'Diwa

  3. Adeyemi attended Norwich School[2] and, having worked his way through the club's youth structure, signed professional forms for Norwich aged 17, in November 2008.[1] He recorded two A* in biology and chemistry and one A result in mathematics in his A-levels in 2010, turning down a university offer from Cambridge to pursue his footballing career.[3][4]

At least this guy will be able to spell his tweets correctly

  4. Its got me thinking how many former first teamers are now in non league such as Matty Wolfenden, Matthew Barlow, Chris Hall etc.

Some looked very good prospects as teenagers.

It's also with remembering some have come back successfully after being sent out on loan to non league e.g.Chris Taylor.

Chris Hall is my most-hated ex-Latic, he boils my piss.

I dread to think how many hours of coaching he got from Latics, not to mention wages, kit, food etc etc for him to say "ah never mind lads, I'd rather be in Hollyoaks". So many expletives, so little time.

His girlfriend is an absolute blurt as well, they're perfect for each other. :ranting:

  5. I love how Reuben Reid has now been nicknamed 'Nando's boy'

It sometimes seems to me that some of our fans would like particular players to just give up. I'd personally love Reid to get his first goal this season and form a partnership with Smith.

I think that Reid has the potential to play every game this season, I'm not sure Parker's temperament is right for 46 games a year. That, and his 'international' commitments. I wouldn't go as far as to get 'REID 9' on my new Latics' shirt though.

Anyway, I don't think the run of 'x amount of games without a win/clean sheet/two goals scored' should count from one season to the next. We've performed well in pre-season and losing the first game to arguably the 'biggest' side in the league isn't the end of the world.

If we perform well tomorrow night, get a draw away at Yeovil on Saturday then give Rochdale a good seeing to next weekend all will be rosy again.

Where did I leave my blue-tinted glasses..

  6. It is a bit of a ballache getting from Manchester to Latics - back in the bad old days of Oldham Werneth station I was often the only Latics fan on a train full of away fans. I remember that I wore the frigging luminous green away shirt when we played 'Uddersfeeled and it was like I'd painted a target on my face. Luckily the mongs don't seem to have cottoned on to the #24 bus. Inside tip for a quiet journey..

On a different note; whichever moron decided to replace the trains through Oldham with the over-priced, four-thousand-years-behind-schedule trams is a weapons grade, ocean going, steam powered, 24 carat blurt.

  7. The thing I would be most annoyed about if Taylor left is that he is the embodiment of the fans, out on the pitch.

For better or worse, he lives and breathes what Latics get up to on the field; every goal, every free-kick, every wrongly-given throw in. It's a breath of fresh air to watch that happen amongst a team who, at times, can look un-interested.

His talents cannot be doubted, in my opinion at least, he scores goals as well as creating them, and I like the we he goes about the game. Even if he does win the odd 'dubious' penalty/free kick. ^_^

He's one of the last real 'fans favourites' we've had since perhaps David Eyres and I think that should be another reason why the club should be hesitant in cashing in on him. To sell him to another club in this league would be stupid, and any club in the Championship can easily afford to stump up £1million.

That being said, I'd rather he went to Burnley for £500,000 than to Leeds for any sum of money. They'd have to pay us the entire gold reserve of the USA to get Taylor in that horrible white shirt without me being sick.

I'd love to see him stay for as long as he's playing football but the inevitable situation is that he's going to move on, it's probably only a matter of time. I'm surprised he's still here if I'm honest.

I think anything less than £1million and we've been done. Though selling Eardley to the Tangerine scum for about 75p and a bag of space raiders shows the kind of money we'll probably get.
