It's' not on iFollow tonight, official says :-

Unfortunately, iFollow Latics regulars Sam Rosbottom and Roy Butterworth will not be on commentary for iFollow due to restrictions at Hampton & Richmond Borough.

You can follow live updates on the club’s official Twitter account: @OfficialOAFC.

    So no commentary either?

I am comfortable with what he has 'allegedly' done - repaying the debt. Investing in players to repay debt is riskier than the stock market.

I now hope AL has some luck with Bunn and Rhodes being able to produce the magic ingredients to create a decent mindset and camaraderie between our young loan players, young home grown players and our own experienced players, including Baxter and Byrne.

If, we can then manage the top half of table by Christmas and keeping the fans onboard I would like to see Al release some funds for two or three fan pleasing signings in January.

I would also be happy with comfortable consolidation this season. I am prepared to give AL a fair go, there not being a alternative helps focus on the impracticality of expecting others to take financial risk on my behalf and hobby.

Comparing Joe Royle's achievements is way off the mark from where we are now. He struggled early on. He did manage to make a few shrewd free signings, Irwin being a perfect example but good money was made available to him also. Holden 165,000, Adams 100,000, Barret 30,000, Linighan 45,000, Richie 50,000 are some his expensive (at the time) signings, we were also in the 2nd Division. A Royle was also given a time.

Could the lower wages of the time allowed for the sort of transfer fees which we don't see anymore?

They have a chance of going up again.  Wonder if the ground will meet the required standards if they do.

I seem to remember them having trouble the last time they achieved promotion, but managed to secure it. Hopefully with Avro's investment in the ground all will be ok again.

Bailey Whalley, youth striker released at the end of last season has turned up in Sweden’s fourth division for Ytterhogdals FC and scored on his debut. Seems to be a team made up almost entirely of young British players.

Might be part of the Erasmus/LFE scheme. There's an interesting article on the BBC about it.

It saddens me how unimportant the League Cup is viewed nowadays. Especially given our history in it.

This is about as big a draw as we could have got with Lampard being their manager yet there'll be less than 3,000 (maybe even less than 2000) there unless Derby bring a few.

And why do people want/expect it to be a tenner against Championship opposition where we could progress to a lucrative next round draw yet are fine with £17 to watch us play Macclesfield?

Surely it should be the other way round?

According to twitter they've sold around 800 so far.

  6. Danny Byrnes has just posted the following about Steve Robinson on twitter:

"Their manager on the video victimised/bullied me for months at Oldham when I was 19, forced me out of the club with a shambles offer by saying he would only make things even worse for me if I stayed. All whilst my dad was in intensive care in hospital. This video is bollocks."

  7. Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a programme from the game which they wish to sell. It's the only one I've not got from this season, so need this to complete the collection. I've emailed emailed the club (Luke Ingram) but have had no response.

    Thanks
