  1. Will Penney keep Brill in goal?

Will he bring another centre back in tomorrow to replace one of the chuckle brothers?

Will Tayor & Colbeck be dropped?

    Will Parker start again?

Will some of the Hungarian youth lads come in?

So many questions, changes are needed, lets hope Penney makes them, and isn't afraid to.

    why change a winning team?

  2. Could be quite a lot on the basis it may be their last chance to visit Boundary Park.

We get promoted this season and they stay down By the time they get to play us again we're in Stadio Failsworth.

    Simples.

I can't see anyone making an effort to travel 200 miles on a Tuesday night just because they may never be able to do it again.

  3. Probably less than £25, like anyone else.

Hardly a matter of diehardness. Maybe just a level of thinking that it isn't worth that and unless you don't turn up it'll remain at that kind of money. But, club's will learn the hard way.

Got to admit, I'm wondering myself whether I can be arsed now.

As an away fan you expect to pay at least £20 to sit down at any ground in this league. Has the extra fiver really put you off from going? or are you just using it as an excuss not to go?

  4. Well it has actually, as they have had a two sided ground for a fair few years and when the latest stand is finished will still only have 3 sides.

Looking at the average crowd stats for Blackpool is interesting......

    League 1 2002/3 6992

    League 1 2003/4 6326

    League 1 2004/5 6031

    League 1 2005/6 5819

    League 1 2006/7 6876 Promotion season

    Champ 2007/8 8860

    Champ 2008/9 7863

    Champ 2009.. 8410 This season

The crowds were in steady decline during the seasons leading up to the promotion campaign where the average jumped up by about 1000 probably based on the undefeated run during the last dozen or so games. The first season in the championship saw an increase of 2000 but they struggled to compete and the following season the average had dropped by 1000. They have started well this season with only 1 defeat in the league and the crowd is up by 600 from last season bearing in mind they have already played Newcastle at home where they achieved the present capacity.

What I'm trying to say is ......even in a new stadium with good facilities the crowds, at our level, will still be almost totally influenced by the performance of the team and very little else.

If we move to Failsworth we may see an initial boost in attendances, but, if we remain in this division, (with it's lack of northern clubs) and show no real intent to progress I fear the crowds will continue to fall away. I reckon TTA will want out fairly quickly after our relocation and unless they can find a buyer who will commit to major investment over the next few years I can't see a real future for the club.

Seriously..............If you wanted to buy a football club with potential for reasonable success, why the hell would you choose a club who reside within 5 miles of the two richest premiership clubs in England.

For this reason, I really can't see any way that TTA will be able to sell the football club.

In the short term a move to Failsworth will give the club a bit of a boost but long term I really, really, fear for the clubs survival.

Re-development or a move is absolutely vital for the future of this club but I feel a move to Failsworth will be an absolute disaster!!!!

You could say that about the whole borough. Would it make much difference if the new ground was 10 miles away instead of 5?

  5. does anyone else remember that song from York away (99?), the only verse I remember went something like-

I don't know why I love you but I do

From Premier League back down to Division 2

With Roger Palmer scoring, the Chaddy End was roaring

I don't know why I love you but I do

Someone had actually typed song-sheets up so people knew the words.

It obviously never caught on though.

  6. Could anyone guess the entrance price on the gate at Arsenal vs Wigan at the weekend? I noticed quite a lot of empty seats, which is rare at the Emirates (must have been the Wigan area)

I'll put you out of your misery......................... £112 on the gate

Birmingham vs Villa last week was £48 and didn't sell out. This game is usually sold out weeks in advance.

Wigan's away support is always crap. My red mate said the other season when he watched them play at Old Trafford they took 400.

  7. When we played Brighton in 2003?, around 12 of us stayed in the Travellodge. About the same number of Sparta Rotterdam fans where also staying there - who had come over to visit somes Brighton fans and to watch the game. At about 3am we had just got back to hear it kicking off outside the main doors (with chants of ROT-TER-DAM HOO-LI-GANS.) A few of us went down to see what was going on and appartently the Brightons hosts had turned on their Dutch guests, resulting with someone being thrown through the reception window. After the police turned up and it all calmed down we got talking to them, and they were sound. A couple of lads exchanged numbers and kept in contact for a while after that.

  8. Went down to Latics yesterday to pick up 2 medium adult shirts, one home and away for me and our kid. Apparantly the shop has sold out of medium adult sizes in both the home and away top and won't be gettin delivery till mid October.

What type of club are we, it isn't even summer when the mad shirt rush is in!!

the running of the club is a complete joke

  9. Looking on the bright side, at least you didn't waste your money on the entrance fee...

Luton - only 15, managed to get let out in time for Barlows leaving (after my mum was rung and told  )

Colchester - kept in until 10pm, had to stay in a travellodge and get train home next day.

Gillingham - kept in until 9pm, by the time I got to Euston the furthest north any train was going was Wolverhampton. Had to get picked up from there, didn't get home till 5am.

I reckon Colchester and Gillingham cost me £800 between them. :disappointed:

  10.

Typical Latics morons, WHY do we have so many at this club????!!!!!!

Brill is obviously very short of confidence, screaming at him that he is :censored: does nothing to improve the situation.

It's not Brill's fault the club got rid of Fleming.

Latics must have the worst fans in the football league. I honestly believe - no other supporters treat their players with so much disrespect than us I can understand why Gregan said he rather play away from home.
