Roger Palmer was never young, not even the day he was born, never mind when he came to us. That was a different age anyway, I have long been convinced that the Redd Soxx academy in particular is geared to finding and selling the next generation of Sunderland/West Brom Norwich type players as much as hoping to find the odd player they actually bother to keep. Bear in mind Southend have the wolf properly at the door, he is probably playing for food in the hope of making an impression somewhere, it's not the story of a player who didn't quite make it at the top level having to slip down a notch.

I think we all would agree this is a bit high compared to the real hard truth so it needs adjusting a bit if you want take a fair comparison against Ritchie's time here I feel...

But playing with the numbers like this is always going to attract criticism... I am just after the truth...

 

What is fair to say though is that the effect of the large game against Leeds is propping the numbers up a bit at the moment because we are looking at just 11 games...so not taking it into account will probably give a more real reflection as their was no "Leeds" in our divison back in 2001... The stoke attendance is similar to this years Hudds attendance... The numbers are also propped up a little by the opening game against Stockport... Which would also be diluted if we was looking at full season but I aint going to fiddle that much as people will just get on my back.

 

All said and done I would say the numbers are about the same as under Ritchie...

 

Average in Ritchies last full year : 4.972

Answer my question first... Why not say this to people backing the development based on such low amounts of information ?

The people backing the development are basing their trust on the information they have, not making assumptions of impending doom.

Why can't I give an opinion on what I currently know... I will no doubt revise my current feelings as things change and we learn more...

Self sustaining at BP is not possible without redevelopment. We will fold as it stands.

 

IF the Oldham Arena plans where implemented at BP then I would suggest that Self sustaining at BP would produce much more money and the land would be far more valuable.

 

IN fact it goes like this...IMO

 

 

Self sustaining at BP = not possible, out of business

Self sustaining at Failsworth = Conf North

Self sustaining at redveloped BP = league 1 or higher

Why not wait for the plans and then give us your opinion?
