  1. Ha. You're a right little propaganda machine. Why don't you tell everyone what thread that reply came from, who started it, and what the started said. You lot have inherited our Leeds complex...
  2. Ahahahahaha, I knew it would pop up! All it shows is that you like to come to our ground. And that your biggest away following at ours was 1000 less than ours to you. And that our smallest was 500 more than your smallest. And that over the 4 seasons we've averaged more going to yours than you to us. And that over the 4 seasons we've averaged over 7596 more fans at each home game. There's a more clear and less contrived set of statistics, but maybe I'm wrong and they all do point in OAFC's favour...... Oh and once again, no Town fan in this thread started with the numbers whatsoever - it was you lot chirping the 'You think you're massive'. But it would be rude not to get involved, especially when the numbers are so kind in our favour, seemed a bit pointless?
  3. Ah yes, my 9 posts. And the 5 hours since my first post in this thread really does stand out as 'far too much time', even considering we've been going for 200,000 years. 1. For him it has to be this season. 2. I live in Liverpool, don't think you see any sheep until Warrington.
  4. He's wrong, you brought 1946. http://www.htafc.com/page/MatchReport/0,,10312~52984,00.html
  5. Because we're fickle. And because I'm a Town fan and you're an Oldham fan this will be bias but I really believe we are a good away day. I'd want to come to us to. That's no disrespect to you, it's :censored: the way your ground has ended up and we are extremely lucky to have what we have. Hopefully soon enough you'll get your place redeveloped. But put your faith your OAFC aside and you must see how un-enjoyable an experience it can be at BP. Yes we are fixated with Leeds. I said that. Bradford are our rivals. So whatever league they are in we will always talk about them because it is a derby. The Oldham Huddersfield love in has arisen because we have both settled in the same league for a fair while now. A few years ago when you were performing better than (say last year) our association got more relevant and fierce. Now our fortunes have (minutely) differed recently things have calmed down again and from our side I don't see too much interest or talk. No matter what league Sadford are in it will always be a pull, I can't see that with you. There is definitely not a fixation with you compared to the way we are with Leeds & Bradford. Leeds fans could copy and paste that last paragraph but replace with their name against ours and it would still make sense. We became temporarily relevant to them (in modern times) due to league placings & competition. It's now gone. Nothing. I think you're missing the point, that's why so many Town fans appear blasé about the new season. Hype doesn't last forever. I have a Man Utd season ticket holding mate who always txts me telling me he's won the LC with us and qualifying for Europa in first year etc. I appreciate yours and his pity. It was a bit tongue in cheek to be honest. I signed up because my ex was a Latic. And I popped on recently to see other clubs reaction to our proposed 'boycott' of SU.
  6. Don't think this thread has in any way made it look like we have big club syndrome, more like you have little club syndrome. The other Town fan is describing the hangover feeling that a lot of us have after yet another season of falling short at the last few hurdles. We didn't expect to be visiting Upton Park because we are the mighty gigantic significant massive draw come out and see us Huddersfield Town, but because we did go so long unbeaten and it really did feel like we'd finally do it. Turns out once again we just can't. It's just like the film Groundhog Day. If you've seen it by the end Bill Murray is just nonchalantly going through the motions. It's not that we expect, because now we don't. It's the opposite - it's just numb. But it's the Oldham game again where the crowd sizes start getting banded about, then the away followings, then the percentage of away followings compared to home crowds, until in the end we all agree that we are much bigger than the other, with both sides offering lots of illogical reasoning. You yearn for us to consider you relevant. Just like we yearn for Leeds to do the same to us. And them to Man Utd. I guess Rochdale yearn for you?
  7. In town Warehouse & Varsity show games but could be difficult getting in for away fans tomorrow. There's Canalside which HTFC bought of Zeneca/Syngenta/ICI/whoever it is now, it's a WMC further down past the ground on Leeds Road. The Rope Walk round the back of the Panasonic has Sky too.
  8. Not been funny, but it would be pretty silly to base that assumption on today's performance - because if we were, surely after today's performance you'd look like relegation material? No disrespect intended. What I mean is that the conditions were atrocious and neither team had the chance to show what they were actually about. I don't think you deserved anything from the game because you were awful, and I'm not saying that you are like that in general, but you just looked a bit clueless going forward today. Granted we were hardly setting the world alight, but we didn't have to. We were competent at the back, and looked like we had more going forward, even though our wingers were pretty much neutralised (who have been one of the main sources of danger for us) - we still created enough opportunities and on another day we could have gone home 3 nil winners (Rhodes crossbar first half, BLATANT handball, Rhodes free header second half). We came to take 3 points and got the job done. That is the sort of result we have been lacking all season. We can blow teams away at home but we struggle to take the nitty gritty's where the result is up for grabs, but needs grinding out. We've beat Southampton & MK Dons and more than matched Charlton, however lost to Colchester and Brizzle. Guaranteed if we'd played them all at home that would have been 15 points - the teams that come to play get beaten. Our away form has been atrocious, we've had some unfortunate and undeserved results away, but if we'd picked up one more win and a couple of draws when we should have we'd be level with top 2 no probs. A bit more consistency and more results on the road and we should be there or thereabouts come the end of the season, touchwood.
  9. Town fan here. Beag teets the .gif in your sig, is that the Chaddy End? What was the crowd that day? In regards to our ground I disagree with the character thing. Perhaps I'll be dismissed as bias because I'm a Town fan, but compared to all the new mechano stadiums being thrown up (saw Cardiff's this evening - atrocious) I think ours has some character. It's stylish and easy on the eye.
  10. Town fan here unsure whether he's stumbled upon the OAFC forum or the Happy Mondays forum?
