    Not at all! Every team should aim to do what Oldham did in the 90's!!!!!! Sadly that will never happen to any team ever again. Will you answer the question? I'm honestly interested in the opinions on here.

    Yes. Sorry, I dont seem to have figured the sense of humour on this board yet! It's very serious! I have never understood the fascination of grown men wanting a lower league footballer to write their name on a shirt or piece of paper.

    Zorro Do you seriously think we will ever be higher than mid table division 3 ever again? We have one of the 10 worst stadiums in the football league. We have crowds of 3600. The teams coming into division 3 from the championship are stronger every year. We have no money.

    He didn't keep us up. WE kept ourselves up. Horrible, nasty little thing who gave abuse to the fans and always scored against us. The crowd hated him.

    I dont get to go much but it seems like staying up would paper over the cracks. If we stay up, we will again sign poor division 3 players. If we went down, we could attract the better division 4 players and rebuild.

    The thought of Dickov being seen as a saviour makes me sad. I've only been on 3 days but people here either have short memories or are new fans! Oldham fans used too HATE Dickov!

    Crowds would be the same (Maybe higher due to more local teams). Playing standard would be the same. No huge drop in income. We're never gonna be a Championship team either way. Might have a chance of competing nearer the top of a league for 2 seasons. See some new stadiums rather than ANOTHER year in division 3. Obviously its not good, but nowadays would it make any difference???

    It'd probably be a good idea! We're palying really badly at the moment and it'd give the new players time to train witht the first team.

    haha Not really although I think we could do with him at the moment! Should have had him before the season in fact.

    Hi mate The name? I came across for a game about 1996 or 7 I think and John Gannon played. He got subbed and a fan shouted out in an insulting manner that he was a "pass master" as he trudged past. Made me laugh and always stuck in my head!

    Hi, I'm new to the board and I know from various other forums that it can be a bit hard to get into the swing of things! Anyway, I've been a Latics fan since 1992 (I WAS a Southampton fan but changed after a move of house and brief spell watching rugby I began following Latics). I don't go much at all but while searching for transfer news today found this forum and decided to join! Anyway, thats me! Look forward to joining in the banter.
