Would mean much much better crowds. Adjustments arent a huge problem as long as everyone is aware of the rules at the start.

  2. ”We know how important this club is to the Borough. We are also acutely aware of the financial pressures that it is facing and we are mindful that club officials have to make their own decisions accordingly in that context. The Council is not fully appraised – and nor should we be – of the details of club’s day-to-day financial challenges. Nonetheless, as a Local Authority we should not use Council Taxpayers’ money and resources to assist in the running of a football club.

Do you know what...why shouldn't they? Im clearly biased but surely it benefits the community.

  3. We don't own the stand to make it a listed building do we ? Blitz owns it right ?

Why would Blitz even consider locking himself in like that ? I wouldn't....

or can anyone push for a building to be listed ?

Whatever... it still a crap idea... We don't need "locks" at the moment...

    Whoosh?

  4. News Of The World

Defender Micah Richards will have to wait before he can complete his move away from Manchester City as a sell-on fee payable to former club Oldham is holding up any departure. (News of the World)

They are able to spend squillions on players yet a few million clause is a stumbling block?

  5. He was interviewed in the corner flag after the game, he's gutted to be missing the game as all his family were going to watch him. Great performance from him today though...

    Prozac ...top sticker there..

  6. We have a 3-sided stadium, no where to drink within the stadium, the pies run out before half-time, the owners don't seem to care and have no ambition, match day ticket are to expenisve for league 1 football. I could go on. Obviously these things do not matter to you. However, they most certainly do to thousnads who have stoped attending in the past few years.

Owners who 'dont care' but saved the club and have since put millions of their own money in? Unreal.

  7. I can't for the life of me remember why but I must have been doing something random somewhere and I ended up walking down along the river from Kew Bridge last time. Very nice walk in nice weather, takes a bit longer but if you aren't in a rush and have no sense of shame about swigging from cans of strong lager in unsuitable public areas it's an alternative to be considered.

Hoping to persuade 10-15 mates to come along. And afterwards my recommendation is to go into Richmond for a few beers...see you in the Princes Head!

  8. Just got back and your summary is spot on. Taylor needs to get his act together but he certainly has some competition to keep his place in this team.

The spirit was superb from start to finish and the way they approached the second half was absolutely excellent. This is exactly what you want from your team, 100% effort and trying to win every match...spot on.

What I really loved was every time someone lost the ball a team mate would be there to cover for them or win it back...brilliant!

Well done to PD and the whole team on and off the field....including us lot who were great again today.

Agree with all the above - thought we were excellent. Totally committed team performance. Hazell and Furman the stand out performers for me. Summed up by what i heard from a Charlton fan on the way out - They are a team of Dickovs - That'll do me. One slight negative - the corner in the last minute...we should have slung it into the box and who knows..very happy though, proud of the boys today!

  9. We are currently formulating ideas for the new scheme which will allow us to save funds that will help Paul Dickov in his quest to improve his squad. If we can help in some small way towards wages or a loan signing it would be great. We acknowledge those few members who joined the scheme the last time around and hope for their continued support.

Circumstances have changed a great deal since we last appealed to fans and I am hopeful that those who are able will join us.

I am currently looking at a scheme that will cost £1 per week with an incentive to join. As with season tickets we are looking to offer a season ticket when we have reached a particular target point with membership.

We are also looking at a monthly prize, not particularly cash, but something worthwhile. I would hope thast by January we would have sufficient funds to help the manager .

Things are fairly flexible at the moment and I have started the thread to give everyone the chance to come forward with any ideas we can consider.

    Hope you can help.

I'd join - on the basis that

    1) You know exactly the cost/wages of the player you have helped purchase

    2) If he is sold for a fee there is an option for a share to be put back into the scheme, or a dividend paid to members. Such incentives make the scheme interesting and worthwhile.

    Cheers

  10. possibly Brendan O'Callaghan in the days before time. Joe paid £55kish to Stoke I reckon and i don't remember seeing him before his career was over. A mate of mine who worked at the club at the time reckoned Joe and Willie decided that they needed a 6 foot plus centre half who could also play up front and spent one afternoon looking through Rothmans to see who fitted the bill before thy came up with him.

He def played. Good player as well.
