    Lock the thread they said.

    Crazy they said.

Writing was on the wall after how that Kidderminster game went down.

Eventually we do have to stick with a manager for more than a season and build a stable team. It might as well be Mellon given his pedigree at this level.

Dobra is their best player by a country mile. Cannot understand why he isn't starting. Almost turned the game at Dorking when he came on.

We were as good as, if not better than Chesterfield today although the draw I'd fair.

We started well then tailed off.

    We were OK.

Yeah, Grigg and Mandeville were on the bench too. Almost like Cook wasn't too bothered about winning and was happier to have their league clinching victory at home next week instead

My apologies, I'll try to be more positive in future and appreciative of the fine squad and tactics we've been blessed with this season.

Onwards and upwards as we steam roll our way to Wembley with our progressive, dynamic football sweeping all aside, developing and nurturing our youth and setting the standards as we go.

EI EI EI O, lets pack the park, cheer unconditionally and roar this fine group of men led by our best ever manager to the promotion spot our joyful displays deserve.

You make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know how much I'll miss you so please don't take my Oldham away.

This is the only appropriate sentiment for being on target for our first playoff finish since 2007.

  4. I think the defence and attack are very good in isolation, or at least

I’m convinced they’re capable of performing to the standard we need. But the midfield is pretty much non existent at the minute and we can’t control games and effectively transition from defence to attack. I’ll give Unsworth the benefit of the doubt that his two first choice midfielders that he’s signed are both injured. So imo he’s entitled to have a run of games when his first choice midfielders are back. I suspect with Green coming back from injury too, we’ll look a much better side overall. But yeah, I’m not in the Unsworth out camp until he’s had a run of games with a full strength side.

  5. What’s with the mass hysteria surrounding Nuttall too? Why is he the boo boy of choice these days? Cause I watched that game yesterday looking for a player who didn’t look shit scared and negative when having the ball at their feet and Nuttall was one of a few that tried to do something positive in possession, who looked like he wanted the ball. He’s nowhere near the worse player in this team.

  6. The strategy for every team in the league who plays against us should just be to do what Southend did today, come out fast and close us down from the get go. Elementary, but it was massively effective today because we struggle to get the ball down, when we do the players panic and can’t string two passes together, so we have zero rhythm and constantly give the ball away, and we don’t adjust to that tactic until 3/4 of the game played. Easy stuff.

    Off to check mine.

Going to be a pain trying to explain that one. Did they hit you for 340 in one transaction or two at 170?

Two £170. I did it through PayPal. I’ve emailed NLTV so hopefully they’ll refund one of them hassle free. It’s obvious a duplicate transaction so if NLTV play funny beggars I’ll go direct to PayPal and get them to refund it

    From the NLTV website:

Here you can find the packages available to you in your region. Due to rules around UEFA's Article 48 matches which kick off on a Saturday at 3pm are not available for broadcast Domestically and these fixtures will only be available to fans based internationally.

Would imagine that you would need to purchase the international pass.

No worries on the vpn and email address; hotmail, gmail etc. Maybe an issue with the cvc on your card though.

    Edit: Maybe @rossy52 can help?

I’ve taken the plunge and bought the INT season pass. If worse comes to worst and I can’t get it to work for Saturday games I’m sure it’ll still function as the Domestic pass and let me watch Tuesday games, etc

Although they’ve double charged me which is annoying.

  9. Credit to the club. The fans have done their bit and returned in droves to give us our highest attendances in nearly 20 years, back when we were spending heavily to try and get into the championship. That budget in the NL, spent correctly should see us compete to be getting out of there, and the signings so far are very encouraging. Down to the manager and players now to do the business.

I originally thought the same. However, having just had a quick scan of a Barnsley forum and realising that, pretty much to a man, they wanted to keep him, I now see this as a coup.

    He'll score loads.

    E I E I E I O

Also I reckon Nuttall will be on his way out.

Admittedly, I wasn’t aware of the view of Barnsley fans and it’s encouraging to see how disheartened they are. 11 goals in L1 is an okay return (for Barnsley) but I assumed at 33 they were looking to offload to bring in someone who can get a few more goals to get them over the line this year after just falling short in the playoffs.

He should have no problem at this level finding net and should be our first 20+ goal scorer since Porter (? No one’s done it since then have they? Lee Hughes was nailed on to do it until the night at the dogs)

Surely Norwood isn't signing. It can't be true

He's 33 next month. It's a good signing assuming he's injury free but not sure I'm buying that it's a massive coup. I'd expect a player at his stage of his career to be around League Two/NL level. We're still one of the bigger draws for players in the aforementioned leagues, especially with the extra revenue from the increased attendances over the last season, so not surprised we're a favourite to sign him.

  12. The recruitment just was no where near ambitious enough, in fact it was fairly piss poor. I guess that can be put down to the distraction of the change of ownership. Our attendances this season are at a high not seen since Shez first left, when we were challenging for top 6 in League One. We're the 2nd highest in the league. We need to flex and use that revenue to get much, much better players than we have.
