  1. Where's the money for it going to come from?

    The town isn't putting it in, the team have done their bit getting cup revenue and the owners are pumping in money that isn't there.

    Money for what?! If you're referring to a loan signing, surely we've freed up a bit of space following the departures of Clarke, Scapuzzi and Mancini? I've also mentioned a couple of rejig options which will cost a grand total of £0.00 Sureley no harm in trying something new? I'm getting sick of seeing two lines of defence every week.

  2. WANTED! At least one central midfielder ASAP. No creativity, negative sideways and backwards football, total lack of closing down.

    Adeyemi just isn't good enough in the centre of the park. His unnatractive style of midfield play reminds me of a certain John/Jon Worthington, a player nobody was sad to see leave at the end of the season. I actually thought Adeyemi was decent at right back in the very few games I saw him play there.

    As for Winchester; yes, he was at fault for the play that led to their goal but he's a young lad playing out of position. He's been asked to do a job he shouldn't really be expected to do.

    I saw Mellor have a very decent game in the centre of the park in pre-season. Therefore, it seems a bit strange to give the role to Winchester who seems a lot more comfortable in a full back position.

    I also remember seeing a very lively Filipe Morais tear Huddersfield apart playing at CM against Huddersfield at home last season.

    Furman back, emergency loan, or a rejig as soon as possible please Mr Dickov.

    Rant over.

  3. Hi all

    Was at tonight's game and managed to lose my wallet d'oh. Don't think it got pinched, more like dropped when celebrating Simpson's goal. I was sat to the left of the goal about 10 rows up from the bottom. It's a black leather John Rocha wallet with about £15 in. Got a few nostalgic items in so if anyone's picked it up/found it please get in touch.

  4. I feel a bit sorry for the guy. Yes, you shouldn't change a winning (or unbeaten) side but to remain on the bench following Josh Parker's absence must've been a kick in the gangooleys. Our most skilful player by a country mile and tonnes better than Adeyemi in my opinion.

  5. Let's hope the club use some common sense and make admission prices more than reasonable. Would be nice to get a few through the turnstiles and create a bit of (tin pot) cup atmosphere. The game's literally days before the Cat A league game against Sheff Wed and to charge more than £10-15 would be shooting themselves in the foot.

    * time for a promotion? Buy one get one free? Bring a friend for a fiver? £3 tickets all round? Hmmm...

  7. I know Roger Palmer went missing for a while but came back to BP a last year, some people say he's on the isle of man, and others in Bacup, others in Sale.

    I ask because I know it sounds cheesy but I have a friend who's not doing too well, it would be amazing to get him a signed shirt, long shot I know!

    I work with his sister. Drop me a private message and I'll see what I can do.

  8. I'd get my finger out of my arse and sign 6-8 players otherwise this prediction might come true.

    I think the backbone of last year's team is still in place aka Taylor, Furman, Morais, Lee, M'voto. We've added quality in Diamond, Cisak, Smith and hopefully Parker. We're a bit thin as a squad (who's gonna play CB if M'voto/Diamond get injured?) but apart from that there's not a great deal to be pessimistic about.

  9. Forgot to mention - Ashton's no 9, the Adeybayor lookalike, was more than a handful in the first half. Think we should work on a 'snap them up from the basement leagues' policy. There's a few gems kicking about aka Smith, Hall, Andrews, Cooksy etc. What about that Norton fella who plays for FC United? I've seen him score goals for fun for Curzon Ashton. Never too late to give players like this a go and their wage demands would be minimal

  10. OLDHAM ATHLETIC

    OLDHAM looked like sneaking into the play-offs at the turn of last season.

    But a dramatic slide saw them tumbling towards the dropzone and finishing a disappointing 17th.

    Player/boss Paul Dickov has hung up his boots to concentrate on running the side and it probably highlights the job he has on his hands.

    Key player Dean Smalley opted to drop down a division to join Oxford while tricky winger Cedric Evina moved to Charlton to be closer to family.

    Even defender Ritchie Jones has left Boundary Park for Bradford.

    Are they all jumping a sinking ship? Quite possibly.

    I have tipped them to survive but if there is one team who could upset my predictions then it could be the Latics.

    I fear they could find themselves in big trouble.

    Ground: Boundary Park (10,638 capacity)

    Nickname: The Latics

    In: Matt Smith (Solihull Moors, free); Jean Yves-Mvoto (Sunderland, free); Alex Cisak (Accrington Stanley, free); Zander Diamond (Aberdeen, free); Matthew Lund (Stoke, loan);

    Out: Lewis Alessandra, Rod McDonald, Josh Ollerenshaw, Andy Todd, Dean Brill, Reuben Reid (all released); Dean Smalley (Oxford United); Cedric Evina (Charlton, free); Lewis Alessandra (Morecambe, free); Reuben Hazell (Shrewsbury, free); Ritchie Jones (Bradford, free);

    Distance: 208 miles (3 hours 49 mins)

    Last season: 17th

    My prediction: 18th

    I saw this earlier. 'Clueless' springs to mind.
