  1. This season is going to require patience. More patience than usual considering we have only just put the squad together and will be far behind our opponents in terms of fitness and organisation.

That said, I am more hopeful than I thought would be possible a few weeks ago when Sheridan left. It sounds like we have a decent staff in place, rolled the dice with some of the new arrivals and if we can get through the first 6-8 games of the season without a complete tatering then we might be looking forward rather than over our shoulder.

If we can manage that, I'd be happy. Anything more is a bonus and if we fall short, well that's Latics for you.

  2. Well, that's the last time I'm being conned into buying a Season Ticket - the mismanagement of this club is beyond belief - how Corney managed to accrue his cash continues to amaze me.

We're NEVER going to amount to anything. A slightest sniff of success and we sell at the lowest price. LJ and now JS. The rumoured 150K compo will cover the ST offer - coincidence ?

So, although I have a season ticket, unless something dramatic happens, it will be my last.

This next season could make last season look spectacularly successful :(

I have to agree. I feel conned, thinking he was going to be around next season, more the fool us, eh? That said, i'm clutching at those thin strands of hope that he stays and all can be forgiven.

  3. Really hope we can keep hold of Coleman. Doubt we can afford much for Main, but it'd be nice to keep him or Holloway. Gerrard has worked wonders in defence and I'd like to see him next season as long as he didn't want the earth.

But whatever my opinions are at the moment I have full faith that Shez will bring in and keep the players we need to mount a challenge next season.

  4. I feel very aggreived to be honest. I thought we had done enough to deserve at least a draw. No chance that was a penalty and no chance Holloway wasn't fouled several times in their box. The guy was bear hugging him!

We didn't take advantage of them going to 10 men. The ref did not help, felt hard done by. Hats off to their lad for the second. The corner OG was just one of those things... Luck very much against us.

Running out of games to save ourselves.

  5. We're in the bottom 4 for a reason and that's 100% down to the players not being good enough. If they were we wouldn't have needed to use 43 of them.

You simply cant disregard the poor management in the first half of the season from Kelly and Dunn. The players we have might be capable of doing much better with capable man-management and appropriate training regimes from the start. So as for our position being 100% down to the players is bollocks.

  6. Coleman would be a fantastic keeper if we were in calmer seas. Unfortunately, we are fighting for survival and need someone with an experienced head between the sticks.

If you ask me, it was Gary Kelly that kept us from dropping like a stone between 96-02. Goes to show the importance of having a solid, reliable keeper in times like these and I honestly think that Shez needs to shift his loan priority towards a keeper who can give Coleman a breather.

As for the senseless bashing of the young lad, some people need engage their brain before they open their gob.

  7. Am I the only one who read that statement and concluded that maybe we didn't sell the sell-on clause? I took "confidential details" to mean the nitty-gritty, ins and outs of the deal which absolutely should be confidential.

Saying that, if the club had been a bit more transparent on the whole matter there would be a lot less sh*t to scrape off the walls.
