  1. I always used to be a B&Q man, but when the new signs went up at the end of last season I started looking for pastures new.

I might give the hospital a try in future - just seems a shame to put money into the hospital instead of the club...although the NHS are relatively worthy recipients in the grand scheme of things.

  2. Why do people arrive early in the club car park, park on the 'front row'... and then not return to their car until 15 mins after FT???

My journey to BP involves a 500 mile round trip and making a quick getaway after final whistle can save 30-40 mins on my journey home...I sat there boxed in like a numptie until gone 5 last night and didn't get home until 9.30.

May run the firebug risk with roadside parking next week!

    Spleen vented.

  3. Abbot managed 13 goals last season, when out or unfit for a period of time, and in what we all agree was probably the most defensive and least attack minded team in decades.

To be honest that is a decent return, and I think Pav if fit will comfortably be a 15-20 goal a season striker in this division. That could have been with us, but instead it will be Charlton. I have no malice against him, didn't see any "gesture" but did hear large sections of the Oldham support giving him grief for most of the game. To be fair, if you cannot take it, don't give it out.

Good game. Enjoyed it a lot and could have won, but equally could have lost so decent point. There are times I have seen Latics start brightly, concede a goal and then fall apart - the strength to come back yesterday was very pleasing.

Jarret - soft foul / booking at the end, but the reaction (albeit over egged by some of the reports) is not excusable and he may well have to take additional punishment on the chin.

I have to admit I was pretty surprised at the frosty reception Abbott got - even before the Charlton goal.

As was said further up the board - without his goals we would have gone down last season, no question. He has his flaws (not least his fondness for the treatment table), but the same could be said of most players at this level.
