  1. Happy birthday Mads. 28, getting on a bit, eh? ;)

God to see we've a holy presence. We're definitelt gonna need you, Chaplin. That's on the pitch as well as on this thread.

Apologies for not being on so much, will try harder in future.

Although I notice only 10 posts needed...

Cheers Stevie. The Dabo one amused me, so I'll use that till I get my own (err ).

    Luckily, didn't see Hairy Potter.

Watch the first hour of the BAFTAs last night. How annoying are award ceremonies? It reminded me of the Oscars when Denzel Washington won. Someone, might have been Julia Roberts, just before he won said something like 'I couldn't live in a world where Denzel Washington hasn't got an Oscar'.

Flip right off woman. Poverty et al you can live with but some geezer ain't got a statue, can't be having that.

Hollywood, tabloids, 'celebrity', I really can't be doing with any of that rubbish.

Flip? What the flip is that all about?

  3. Does anyone go down Oxford Road at around 9.15/9.30 am?

If so, have you seen the most unconvincing transsexual ever walking down there? It might sound cruel but its quite an amusing sight. She/he's got hair like Bill Bailey and, instead of the beard, a 5 O'Clock shadow.

I know I shouldn't laugh but I couldn't help but chuckle to myself.

Oh Stipey, just found out Wilco have a new album out in May. Called Sky blue sky. Can't wait.

  4. Bless - all grand chaps mmm? I remember when my brother was doing his history degree, starting to read a book by AJP Taylor, being unable to go on with it, too heart breaking. We really, don't know how lucky we are.

Was mentioned on the other thread but that documentary last year about the last Tommys was heartbreaking stuff. Can't possibily imagine what it's like.

AJP Taylor - staple reading for any History student.

With IM mentioning going to see James, I've got a few gigs coming up. Went to see Clap Your Hands Say Yeah on Friday night, pretty good despite only knowing one song. Going to the Arcade Fire in March and Manchester V Cancer gig at the MEN in March too. With Cheltenham and St Pats night, plus our Championship push, I'm really looking forward to that month :)

  5. Fitness, eh?

In case you've not seen t'other thread, I'm doing the Manchester run in May - Stipes, I'll look into that charity, cheers.

At my wedding (clearly have to find the bird mad enough first), I'm clearly gonna set the play list like Woodgate, sorry Stevie. No way am I having some utter garbage like Black Lace on (speaking of which, found out today that one of them is dead).

Granny Gill - you go get her girl :violent111:

That's taken me ages to type - I nearly burnt me tea.

  6. Don't know if any of you long threaders are fans of "James" as in the band.

Tickets for the Arena went on sale today for 28/04 as good as a sell out ticketmaster have no tickets left.

If you missed it and were interested you can still just about pick em up at cost price via gigsandtours.com for £31 rather than brave the free for all that is e bay.

That's all,you can carry on now.

First single I ever bought was 'Sit Down' by James (first album was 'Some Friendly' by the Charlatans, ooh new topic first single and album you bought) and I owned one of those t-shirts with Ja on the front, m on the left sleeve, e on the back and s on the right sleeve. I was a right cool kid :cool4:

  7. Artic Monkeys are ok but not as special as people would have them be.

U2 have found a formula and are now doing gash albums by it. Start with a big 'rock' song (elvavation etc) and then a couple of ballardly types. Pity as they used to be good.

My choice, a band I adore, The Arcade Fire.

  8. By the love of all that is holy, 200+ posts? Who are all these Johnny-come-latelies anyway?

    We should have an initiation for this thread, gotta get drunk and post some;
