  1. I get your point but seeding one or two squad players in would give a better indication of whether they can do a job than ripping out the whole heart of the machine. I would have kept Green and Clarke in and given Kettings Edmunson and Banks run outs plus changes wide and up top.

Chances are though that old heads needed the rest time.

I think SR: A wanted to give them a rest B didn't want them injured and C needed to get some game time into the other players. So he didn't have much choice. The big upside for winning would be more decent reserve games, he probably doesn't care a lot whether he wins or not.

  2. What has improved at the club to make them come back ? Nothing...

Things are worse now then when I threw in the towel.

I suppose the ground looks better now we have a stand we don't own... Unless you view it as a shinning example of the failure to deliver we have had under TTA.

I think you need a few more zeros in your name. Like your content.

  3. Just tiring working out what this has to do with the thread title.

It's about whether we made any progress game by game, although I fully agree that it's gone way off piste. I know that I should ignore it but, frankly, the moaners put me off supporting OAFC more than any incompetent administrator could ever do. Totally new football staff (management and squad) competing really quite well with good organisation, purpose and spirit after a few weeks and some people can only come up with negatives. I find it puzzling and sad.

  4. No made a complete mess of it...was going to make a point out of how any number to the power of 0 ( nothing) always gives the answer 1.... Made a complete horlicks of it though.....I think I got away with I!

I can't copy the link on my crap HTC phone, but many mathematicians say zero squared = 1. I thought you were correct! Although I couldn't see how it relates to my post :-)
  5. I'm surprised nobody mentioned what a great header it was for the own goal. Reminded me of Kenny Clements, who I'm sure must have scored more against us that for us. I know that he was a good player in many ways, but I was always terrified when he touched the ball around our box.

  6. Don't think people are that tough on grammar and spelling here. Only occasionally and mostly jokingly.

Anyway in spoken conversations you've got tone of voice, body language, the fact you probably know the person already, and you can ask if you don't follow. When you're reading a post all you've got are the words to go on. And if it's someone you don't know whether they can write clearly helps build credibility in what they're saying.

Indeed. And really I was just having a bit of fun about an everyday thing that winds me up slightly. No offence meant.

  7.

He's played us all for a phaal - let's hope his form doesn't sag and at his age he should watch his tikka :petesake:

Can't blame him for wanting this move - he's gone to Kerala, which is (in my view) one of the best places on earth. None of the crap naan breads and heaving crowds of suffering that are on view in some other parts of India. Tropical paradise with virgin rain forest, fantastic coast, lovely people and culture plus the best food in India (although Pondicherry competes strongly on that one). I'd go there today, but they haven't offered me a contract!
