I haven't been around here much lately. What was the general reaction of those that were firmly in the anti-Ched camp once he was acquitted?
-
Eh? There was a shortage of such people before the referendum and there still is now. Which is good.
Not following you at all.
I'm just saying that there seems to be an increased confidence amongst the bigots currently.

No shortage of people who feel like it's okay to behave like this going around now:

Not paid any real attention to this for quite a while. Far too distracted by the Brexit fiasco and then topped off by another pathetic England football showing. The fact that we're still searching for a manager after all this time is just too fookin' hilarious. I really do find it increasingly hard to take life seriously any more.

The title of this thread is a bit of a cocktease, me thinks.

They were rock bottom I think before he took over 33% win rate since he took over is impressive!!
When did he take over?

Can someone explain why people are talking about the good job he has done at Newport? A superficial look at the League 2 table and their results this season doesn't look that good to me.
-
How the f is John Sheridan the man that John Gilder always wanted? If it turns out to be him, talk about low expectations.
-
I'll be honest, Phil, you come across a bit Meninist.
There's no such thing as a Meninist.
And do you have a counter to my point?

Jeremy Vine blaming Jose's sacking on Chelsea player rebelling against him following the Eva Carnerio incident:

One question I have is regarding this line:
And then something utterly unhinged happened. I had to explain to my young daughter why you had exploded at the popular team doctor (one of the most prominent women in the Premier League) and I could not give her a decent reason. You didn't just demote her and cause her to leave, you humiliated her. You should not have done it and I believe the players were also at a loss as they tried to explain it to their young daughters
Why would the players need to explain it to their young daughters specifically? It's as if he's suggesting that the players owed an explanation to their daughters, but not to their sons.

The reason the guy was sacked was because you load of bellends turned on him even before we had played a match! You got what you wanted so don't now try and backtrack and blame the board and pretend he was hard done by! Good luck to him, hopefully the Halifax fans arent as narrow minded as you lot!
I thought he was sacked because of :censored: performances and lack of recruitment skills.

It's not unheard of for a new manager to sit out the first game
If DK was in the stands, I don't know who was in charge of the team.
-
He also messaged the chairman prior to the sacking of Neil Aspin, telling him that he would win Halifax the league if appointed. Bit of a :censored: move if you ask me.
-
He was picked on his interview skills again.

Largely agree with the above, with a couple of things to add.
It could be argued either way as to whether or not Andy Ritchie has been a success anywhere he has been. I would say though that, unlike Sheridan, he has a League 1 promotion on his CV. I also think he was harshly dismissed from the job here. However, I still wouldn't hope for him as manager again.
If I was picking an ex manager to come here, it would certainly be Dowie. He was a success, he wasn't sacked and he didn't disrespect us when he moved on. So long as he still had the passion, he'd be a good appointment I think. Won't happen though.

Shez,s side play a better style of football, than we have been seeing this season. So yes I would have him back.
You have a worryingly low bar for qualification
-
If you think failure is 3 seasons of top 10 finishes, including a chance in the play offs and a FA cup win over Everton, then what on earth have you been watching since he left?
2 top ten finishes, technically.
And do you not recall how badly things were falling apart in the 2008-2009 season at the time of his sacking?
Basically we started well under him, Sheridan seemed to be on to something, but it was all regression from there. This culminated in our disastrous form at the end of his final season. We had some good players during his time, but it became increasingly obvious that he never really knew what to do with them or how to handle them.
Corney saw all this first hand. I would be beyond shocked if JS is even being considered.
-
I want him even more now...
So you'll do the opposite of what I say?
I must remember to abuse this power one day.
-
There would be few appointments I would be less enthused about than John Sheridan.
He was sacked. He tried and failed. I would like someone with a bit more potential or pedigree.

It's easy to scoff. And I see no shortage of scoffers.
I see nothing egregiously wrong with the document. It looks reasonable to be. Also remember that this was only part of his presentation.
Whether LJ has the skill and personality to be able to communicate these ideas to the players and man manage them effectively is the only thing that is worthy of discussion in my eyes.
-
I don't buy the idea that you can make football too complicated or that footballers are too stupid to internalise complex ideas and execute them.
This is their full time job. There are numerous occupations which require the memorisation of far more rules, ideas and guidelines than any footballer will ever have to do, even if playing for Lee Johnson.
-
I just think Kelly got the team and tactics wrong today, he'll learn from his mistakes I'm sure.
I don't think we'll ever see Poleon on the left again, he's entirely right footed and couldn't even run with the ball at full speed because of this.
I have no idea why this would matter
