  1. 'I had lunch with Ched today on a friendship basis as I'm fully supportive of the legal process he's taking at the moment.'

He can have lunch with whoever he wants.

The use of the word ladies instead of women shows how out of touch he is.

How could he??? Damn his insensitivity

Is it possible to "deplore" something someone did if you only think he only "allegedley" did it?

He is saying that he deplores the alleged crime. So yes.

Say 10 fans did that (and I can't imagine it would have been that many) that would have meant 3000+ didn't......

There's a flaw in your logic if you are suggesting that the 3000+ people would not share similar sentiments to the 10.

It's not alleged, Barry. He's been proven guilty. The appeal process just means it could be overturned, not that he's suddenly innocent again just because he's fighting it.

That's from a former police officer too. What a moron.

It is "alleged" because it has been alleged by people. "Alleged" doesn't mean "innocent". "Alleged" doesn't mean "not guilty" even. "Alleged" has no bearing on the outcome of a trail. It is simply what people will tend to say to cover there arses pre judicial verdict or if they don't accept the verdict. But every crime that anyone has ever been accused of can correctly be referred to as "alleged".

  2.

But the 31-year-old, who scored 28 goals in 66 appearances for Athletic, maintains it wasn’t down to him that the club ended up without a penny from the deal.

“I always get a bad reception at Oldham, so I’m used to it,” laughed Porter.

“When I moved from there, they never got any money for me. It wasn’t my fault, but the fans don’t see it that way.

“A lot of it was out of my control. I wish it wasn’t the case, because I had a really good time at Oldham.”

How was it not in your control? How was it not your fault? Are you a slave or something??

Go f*** yourself you putrid little skid mark of a human being.

  3. I'd rather have a 'fraudster' even though he's been found not guilty... Than a convicted rapist...

    Nicely misrepresented there.

Amongst other things (according to club) Montano has been caught on camera admitting to fraud, in betrayal of the trust given to him by his teammates, the staff and the supporters of the club.

Ched Evans has been questionably found guilty in the opinion of the court of having sex with a woman after she had crossed the "was she too drunk to consent or not" threshold. He has also served time for his alleged crime.

Who would I want at my club? Certainly not Montano.

  4. I've hidden a bunch of tit-for-tat, "who's the troll?" type posts. It's boring. Knock it off, please.

You also appear to to have hidden a post that confirmed that I'm not the only one being redirected to "lemode-mgz.com" on this forum. Owtb is being spammed. Do you know what is going on?

  5.

If you could read I said I could of worded it better.... Not off with the troll.

Alright...I stand corrected. Looks like it was you said that 3 minutes before my question. I apologise.

That's the problem with a thread that updates 10 times before I can click "post", and to make matters worse I keep being redirected to some annoying health advert at the moment.

So what does "Not off with the troll" mean?

  6. Gordon Taylor, chairman of the PFA has likened the Ched Evans case to that of Hillsborough.

Whilst us Oldham fans were clearly split on the Ched Evans case, I think that we can join together in condemning these comments. His has said he is "extremely sorry", but I do not think that is enough. I have called upon him to resign, his comment are a appalling.

I have started a petiton calling on him to resign Iask you to sign it.

    https://www.change.org/p/gordon-taylor-chairman-of-pfa-gordon-taylor-resign-for-your-hillsborough-comments-in-the-wake-of-the-ched-evans-case

    Complete codswallop and balderdash!

For all the reasons already stated on this thread

  7. I think we all ( even the rediculously stubborn anti evans brigade) know full we'll that only 3 people know if he is innocent one can't remember and hasn't even accused him of it and the other two have said she consented. The case seems to be built around her being too drunk to consent. That is a matter of opinion as it can't possibly be proved. 12 jurors decided she was. That's were the ambiguity comes from and why so many people refuse to just blindly accept he's guilty. Problem is all the anti evans brigade take common sense as meaning people are condoning his actions and defending him

As far as I see no one has said he's innocent just questioned his guilt

That being said I don't think anyone has defending his actions in finding himself in the room origanally

Totally agree. Although personally whilst I'm not defending him, I'm not particularly bothered about him being in the room either.

Naive and ill advised - sure. Disrespectful to his girlfriend - certainly. But ultimately the only person he is hurting in any way via his mere presence in the room is his girlfriend, and that's a private matter.

  8. Disappointed that the club have caved in like this. They clearly wanted Evans and so should have stuck to their guns. It suggests that they have received a reaction that they weren't expecting. I have no idea why and it wouldn't have taken a soothsayer to predict all this madness. But the baying mob have their way. Congratulations.

  9. Hopefully we can replace the sponsors who have jumped ship, with ones that aren't so cowardly or morally dubious/inflexible/binary.

Sorry, but this whole episode is pissing me off royally now, both the reactions of some on this board and in the media over the last few days are sickening to me. I think I'll take the rest of the day off to calm down.

Welcome to the club Ched Evans. Here's hoping you are worth all the fuss.

  10. Would you blindly accept a quashing of the conviction? Or would there still be doubts?

I would have no opinion or belief about any court decision unless I have looked into it myself. No matter what that decision is.

In the Ched Evans case, I have seen nothing substantial enough to indicate guilt. If a court rules to overturn the verdict then both myself and the court would be in alignment in that regard.

  11.

A jury overseen by a judge and the court of appeal...

I have also read everything online about the case including his website and it very much sounds like rape to me,

Well, you either have different standards to me of judging a rape case, or you have seen something that I haven't.

Nothing I have read leads me to be confident enough that a rape has occured.

  12.

Its nothing to do with "faith"....

Anyway... Sometimes you just have to agree to disagree...

Well let's save us arguing semantics about the word "faith".

It has everything to do with the fact that I won't accept someone else's judgement of another human being blindly. You (and a scarily high number of people) appear to be comfortable accepting a jury's verdict with full confidence, to the point where vitriol towards the judged is deemed excusable.
