Barnsley were quick to post this:

Following defeat at Derby County and results elsewhere, Barnsley Football Club have been relegated to Sky Bet League One for the 2018/19 season.

The Club acknowledges the disappointment of relegation and shares the view of supporters that this has been a disappointing season of results. The aim is now to have a proactive summer both on and off the pitch, in order to gain promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship.

Following a relegation clause within their contracts, the employment of José Morais, Dimas Teixeira and Joao Cunhã has been terminated with immediate effect.

Might be seen as a little patronising but at least they have acknowledged their situation

Wonder if we had a relegation clause in RW contract?

  2. Worry is now with the owner bringing in to many foreign players  will he continue with this policy if so will we end up like Leyton Orient??????

Chairman now needs to come out and outline his plans for the club as of yet we have heard zilch & got relegated partly because of the above.

Ironic that the two potential stars of the future scored.  The rest including wonder boy doyle can F**k off.

We pinned all our hopes on Doyle which massively backfired he wont play in league two that is the last we have seen of him.

  4. I read Simon Jordans book a while back mad Crystal Palace fan who put in a substantial part of his wealth into the club, he said his heart over ruled his head at times because of being a fan he made lots of mistakes whilst learning but the biggest in hindsight by a significant margin was his bad appointment of managers they he did not realize it at the time, but by appointing rookie managers on a consistent basis is doomed to fail especially when they are learning the ropes and making mistakes plus inheriting a team that had previously nearly been relegated.

The irony this looks like it is coming to fruition when hope was on the horizon and we might have a few quid to spend on the squad and look forward to a season of hope rather than despair KTF.

Wellens comment following the draw at ‘dale:

Speaking about the game, Wellens said: “The best players on the pitch for me were my goalkeeper, back four, my defensive midfield, Ousmane Fane was outstanding, but my attacking players didn’t really turn up.

seems to be calling players out in public a lot with no effect, are the players playing for him or switched off ???????

They looked a far more incisive team than us and they can mix it up. I’d imagine the absence of Henderson meant they had to adapt.

It was a mistake to not go with Holloway from the off. Nazon was dire tonight.

Got to start with Holloway can hold it up and allow midfield to make runs beyond & also get flick ons so Doyle get something to work on, not a time to be pretty percentage football as Shez did to save us but we should of been doing it earlier but we thought we were to good to go down.

Bring Nazon on later in the game when teams are tired so he can run at them if we need to gamble.
