As we close in on 20 completed seasons in League one, I wondered whether there is anyone out there who has done all the games. There are a few I can think of who will have only missed a handful but I don't think I am aware of anyone who has a 100% record.

Of the 915 games so far, I reckon I have probably done 700-750

At a guess I have probably missed around 15 to 20 games over that time and considering some of the shite served up over those two decades that's some feat in itself. Success can only be around the corner cant it ?

I used to play amateur Saturday football for a team called Middleton [not that one] who hailed from Heysham, nr Lancaster & Morecambe, in a Lancashire/Cumbria league in the late nineties. One particular Saturday we played Kirby Lonsdale away..... they were going better than we were in the league and so we were gonna need to grind one out.

As we were getting changed, our manager came up to our left back [whom I was sitting next to] - he was a right nutcase, an hard as nails scaffolder - and said to him, "They've got that lad, Owen Mark or whatever he's called, out of that pop group on their right wing today. He's quick and has one or two tricks but is soft as sh1t, so I want you to hit him early".

5 mins in, Owen gets the ball.... and then like a flash, gets clattered by our scaffolder. As he's nursing his leg, scaffolder stands over him and shouts "Take That!".

Yes that my hazy memory of the 90s seems to remember....and good story although its a shame he didn't clatter him in the gob which would have saved us the agonising pain of "Clementine" :petesake:

Just paid for mine outright. No added fees in the end even though it said before I confirmed that there may be a 2% charge for cards.

Big question for me now is how do I get myself a season pass for the car park behind the new stand and how much are they? May be one for leeslover, I'm sure I've seen you post that you have one?

I did ask about the car park season ticket and the guy said it will be available  sometime in the summer ...same as last season I paid £100 for a bit of flimsy bit of lamanated card that looked like a 3yr old made it .... No checks either when entering just wave it about and in you go.

It's a £20 (?) shirt that has now been seen by however many gazillion twitter followers he has. Cheap marketing and, no, it probably won't directly result in any of them becoming regular attendees but there is much to be said for awareness.

Awareness of what ,the fact wev'e been pretty much shite for the past 20yrs ?...I'l hazard a guess that they will already know.

  5.  So he's a fan by his Grandad's association selling pies ?    Very much doubt you will ever see him at a game ....unless of course we reach the premiership again and then he can jump on that bandwagon and claim to have supported 'Latics  all his life .. somewhat like that small boy band member Mark Owen.  It is very nice of the club to send him a free shirt I wonder if he will wear it as an act of defiance whilst walking over Westminster bridge ? :mmm:

I've also emailed that address with no response, MQT. Absolute shower.

Nothing should ever surprise you with the way the club is run .....If anything can go wrong it will .......the majority of which is down to the ineptitude of the board who supposedly know what they are doing.  :gathering2:

  7. Although I don't really rate Erwin I think he had one of his best games last night (I know not that hard after some abject performances) . He won more headers than the rest of his previous games put together ...yes he was guilty of not crossing to Mclaughlin ...but the same could be said of Mclaughlin in the first half.Hold up play was pretty poor though (as usual). As for Ngoo clumsy and cumbersome he may look but some decent touches and as others have stated held the ball up and on occasion showed some deft skills ...shame his shot didn't rifle into the top corner instead of row Z. Defence superb again and Ripley is the man to beat. I didn't think banks did much other than score a good goal ...seemed only to break up play once when he showed the desire to actually win a ball ..free kicks pretty poor. O'Neil all over the pitch and chased everything and considering how much of the ball Charlton had that's some mean feat. Taylor pretty quiet got the assist and showed us his easiness to go down (2nd half specifically) although he did get kicked up into the air from behind (as I saw it) no foul ?? Overall under the cosh for large parts of the game but a battling performance got us the three points. Six wins from fourteen will surely see us safe , lets hope we don't balls it all up against Swindon

  8. I honestly cant quite believe some of the comments on here which state that shouting of a players surname as racist ? Its about time all this pc bull:censored: was kicked into touch as its things like this that helps dilute any real racism. I suppose every club in Germany is racist because there when a player comes on as sub the tannoy guy shouts his first name while the rest of the stadium shout his surname. Racism my arse :shakeit:
