Ackey Posted January 27, 2009 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Using: Windows Vista on an almost new VAIO which is able to do everything else ok. iPod S/ware Version 2.1 Updating to 2.2 Half a dozen applications installed on the iPod. Problem: I've been backpacking for some time, and so my iPod is now considerably outdated. However, when I attempt to update the software it will take anywhere up to 8 hours to reach around the half way point, at which point it tells me the iPod is disconnected and fails. I'm fearful of formatting the iPod, as I have some data on it from my trip I'm not willing to lose, but at the same time really need to update the software.
