Fifty years ago today....."the day the music died"

Recommended Posts

Fifty years ago today, 22 year old Buddy Holly died in a plane crash, along with the pilot, 17 year old Ritchie Valens and The Big Bopper. Although his music career only lasted eighteen months, Buddy Holly has had a great influence on popular music. His death was referred to in Don McLean’s ‘American Pie’ as “the day the music died”.
