Oldham Council getting with times

I was walking through oldham town centre on my way to work this morning when my phone started vibrating,

I looked and it said the following:

 

File sent by OLDHAM COUNCIL

accept?

Yes No

 

Normally with things i dont know i reject instantly but this time i decided to accept to see what it was,

a few seconds later i got the message:

File received:

(00) Big_Screen_Blue

View now?

 

I did and it was a poster-style image which said: oldhams big screen, providing you with the latest of whats happening in the borough, it also had an image of a television box with the words "what's on the box?" in it and a website and the new oldham logo,

 

overall it was pointless to me, but the idea, i thought, was pretty good! it seems a good way of advertising things in the borough using technology that most people in the borough have,

 

I was taken aback as i thought the oldham council where still wondering at the marvels of this new fangled wheel invention,

 

anyone else receive this bluetooth message this morning? and what do you think of the idea?
