ENGLAND-HOLLAND GAME IN DOUBT

Recommended Posts

England's friendly with Holland on Wednesday is in serious doubt due to the riots in London.

A third night of violence was seen in the capital on Monday and now the Football Association is due to meet with the local authorities and the Metropolitan Police.

The FA's Club England managing director Adrian Bevington confirmed early on Tuesday that he was heading to Wembley for meetings but, with the Carling Cup ties at West Ham and Charlton already postponed, England's match is in serious doubt.

Bevington said on Twitter: "Deplorable scenes of disorder once more - heading into Wembley now for meetings."

The Dutch squad are not due to arrive England until midday but they are unlikely to travel until there is confirmation of the game going ahead.

There's a possibility that all of the weekend's premier league games being called off due to the riots. Now I know we are playing Yeovil rather than Brentford / Leyton Orient, but could another night of trouble see the Football league say "everything is postponed"? I hope not - I'm off to the game. I've been looking forward to an away game for months.
