XBox 720/ XBox Loop

Couple of interesting but conflicting rumours have appeared regarding the next xbox, or xbox 'Loop' as it is rumoured to be codenamed, over the past few days.

One states apparently the next XBox set to use ARM processors, set to be smaller and cheaper than the current xbox, and is going down the APU route like the new AMD Fusion. Apparently will consist of a main processor, and multiple assistive cores for Graphics, Sound, Networking, Physics, AI, Sensors and Encryption, and will be based on a modified version of win9 core.

One which has just come out today suggests that the next xbox will be released christmas year, and will be very closely integrated with Windows 8 and Windows phone.

Other rumours point strongly towards Christmas 2013 for a release, which I wouldn't rule out, but that would give Nintendo a good 12-18 month clean run with the most powerful console on the market by some margin, which I can't really see Microsoft allowing.

I still think an E3 2012 reveal followed by a launch window between XMas 2012 and Summer 2013 is most likely, with PS4 to follow about 12 months later.
