BristolOwl Posted September 11, 2013 Share Posted September 11, 2013 LJ really is really transforming the club. He has a brilliant mind, can spot and develop talent, is honest and already respected. He will be a coach of huge talent. Exciting times. It might be too much to ask these days, but playing as well might be the icing on the cake. He seemed to do ok yesterday and he is a workhorse. George Hardwick was a similar manager, talented and loved and he carried on playing at Latics after he ended his career as a full-back for Boro and England - playing in mid-field and even centre-forward. But perhaps we should just be happy with a great manager, hanging up his boots like Frizzell and Royle. (All three of these managers took time to meld championship-winning teams.)
