Diego_Sideburns
Oldham Tinker Larry Kearns has died aged 73. I went to school with him and his brother Gerry, both of whom some on here will remember as their teachers. Back in the day, the three of us and another lad were ushered through the Chaddy End turnstile two at a time, and approached by a plain clothes policeman inside the ground, investigating the turnstile fiddle going on at Latics. We had to appear in Oldham Magistrates' Court as witnesses for the prosecution,. Happy Days! 'Larry' (Bernard) was a great lad and fun to be with. He will be remembered through his music - who can forget John Willie's 'orse, who was picked for Latics by Jimmy Frizzell, when flu had taken its toll, and he scored the winning goal? Rest in peace Larry. http://www.oldham-chronicle.co.uk/news-features/8/news-headlines/98392/tributes-flood-in-for-tinker-larry
