Realy in two minds about replacing him on the one hand he knows who he needs to retain and release if he can where as any new manager would need time to asses the strengths and weaknesses of the squad . Cant help thinking that the "other problems " link back to the reid video and the prolonged punishment of the player if hes popular with the rest of the dressing room some may see it as unfair

No. Sharp did against Luton. That's the only one, I think.

What happened to the proposal to bring back terracing again, particularly at lower level?
Being in non league could we actually do it?
Iirc once a stand has been built or converted to seating that cannot be reversed although rail seats can be retrofitted (safe standing) .

Something that did frustrate me though is am I right Rochdale were only restricted to selling the top "tier" of the chaddy yesterday. I'd actually quite like to see it relatively full. We turned down the chance to sell another 2000 tickets to Chesterfield a couple of weeks ago. I know their maybe reasons to mot give them a huge amount of fans but we turned down between what 30-40 grand of income on that one game alone and it would have enhanced the atmosphere significantly.
Rochdale were restricted to 1700 tickets and managed to sell 1689 of them by friday dinner when they went off sale .what makes you think they would of filled the rest of the stand if available ?

Does every fanbase make such an effort to dislike it’s own players so much or is it just us?

The internet is a different place these days, there's a lot of hate out there.
The function of being able to switch clubs boards by just selecting a team on a drop down menu was so simple, it was a great feature.
was great having banter with the plastics donkey lashers and bin dippers often heated never nasty usualy with a tounge firmly in cheek happy days

Cant forget the regular ding dongs we had with Dirty Leeds for most of the 80s .many a lairy trip to Elland road .

Looks like our win got the manager the sack!!!.
We are good at doing that, from memory, the most high profile manager to be booted after we stuffed them was Kevin Keegan (CIteh) Megson (Forest)…
Petty it wasnt Ferguson 1990

Think seats were removed at both ends of that stand
Iirc they were used to replace broken seats elsewhere under corney to save money

I remember reading that in the late 70's we had agreed a fee with Man City for Brian Kidd only for him to chose to go to Everton at the last minute.
Remember that on the back pages of the Chron for a week

They chipped in over £10k when some Latics fans went bucket shaking at Eastlands. Tbf their fans were very supportive of us generally. From memory also had a pre-season friendly where they brought about 10,000 fans!
Iirc they refused their share of the gate receipts from the friendly to help us out

If we were to do a bus ourselves where would we do one from say going from Shaw through to Royton and then BP. Would 1 from the centre of Oldham work? It would be interesting where in the borough we draw our regular match day going support from.
Greenfield grotton lees town centre ground
Uppermill dobx delph waterhead town centre ground
Milnrow newhey shaw royton ground
Mossley lees town centre ground
Ashton hathershaw town ground
Holinwood werneth featherstall rd ground
Middleton millshill chadderton ground
Just some that might work

How much of it is to do with the buses coming under one control again with the Bee network making the whole thing feasable ?
-
this used to be the norm in the 80s the 183/4 around 12 from town would go onto OT when they were at home as would the 82 when citeah were at home
same at BP in the 70s would be a line of busses up sheepfoot lane to shaw rochdal and ashton etc all the drivers would be stood in the main stand paddock for the last 15 mins

I stood on the Kop for that game, figured it might be my one and only trip to Anfield (to date, it was!) so I was curious what it would be like. I remember the Jimmy Case goal very well, and being shoved about 20 feet forward after it!
That Liverpool side won the European Cup only 3 months later. They were a hell of a side but we played really well on the day.
Also stood on the Kop for that one with my dad and brother aged 11 lifted to the front and generaly treated well

I think this was the issue a few years ago (I think under Corney). Wasnt there a game with free admission but you had to get a ticket in advance?
Im certain there was a sellout but then on the night only 10k-11k turned up as a lot over ordered tickets. As a result there was hundreds outside (who turned up not realising you had to have a ticket) not able to get in.
That may well be incorrect but no doubt someone here will be happy to correct me.
Appreciate the circumstances are slightly different here. Something different from the club, a little damned if they do and damned if they dont, hopefully all get in who want to and as a result support a very worthy cause.
Celebration sunday when we thumped Grimsby was free entry with NO tickets resulted in utter chaos iirc season ticket holders locked out as ground full way before kick off think someone has learned from that one
