I stood on the Kop for that game, figured it might be my one and only trip to Anfield (to date, it was!) so I was curious what it would be like. I remember the Jimmy Case goal very well, and being shoved about 20 feet forward after it!

That Liverpool side won the European Cup only 3 months later. They were a hell of a side but we played really well on the day.

Also stood on the Kop for that one with my dad and brother aged 11 lifted to the front and generaly treated well

I think this was the issue a few years ago (I think under Corney). Wasnt there a game with free admission but you had to get a ticket in advance?

Im certain there was a sellout but then on the night only 10k-11k turned up as a lot over ordered tickets. As a result there was hundreds outside (who turned up not realising you had to have a ticket) not able to get in.

That may well be incorrect but no doubt someone here will be happy to correct me.

Appreciate the circumstances are slightly different here. Something different from the club, a little damned if they do and damned if they dont, hopefully all get in who want to and as a result support a very worthy cause.

Celebration sunday when we thumped Grimsby was free entry with NO tickets resulted in utter chaos iirc season ticket holders locked out as ground full way before kick off think someone has learned from that one

£1 entrance for everybody including away fans but it’s ticket only!

No pay on the day🤷‍♂️ I think they’ve dropped a bollock there!!

Thinks back to celebration sunday and the chaos that ensued that day with season ticket holders locked out .think this is the better solution for now to gauge interest

I cannot believe that there are still posters who think money can be made from running/owning a football club. do they never read a paper or look at  BBC Sport etc and see what a money pit football is at just about every level?

Think the qoute  is " how do you make a small fortune from owning a football club "  ? " start with a large fortune "

Did it piss it down on them in that open end Rocky back then, if it was the same game they scored the 3 goals in the last 5 minutes iirc. To be fair Plymouth always travelled well despite how they were playing.

That was pompey 91 wasnt it ?

I would imagine it’s permanent. If anything, whatsoever, happened to Frank his family would automatically take over his authority. I wouldn’t expect Joe Royle to be in the same financial health as Frank. But Joe would be a real positive on the Board of Directors.

Frank is a minority  share holder his children own the bulk of the shares already he just acts as the figure head as its his personality to be front and center if he died tommorow  there would be little differance to the running of the club
