  1. I brought my brother in law on Saturday, who was very much a neutral. He commented on the general lack of effort and running of our team.

And it seems stupid to moan about throw ins, but it’s something that’s irritated me for seasons now. I remember Shez doing his nut about it in the L2 relegation season. We don’t have movement, we don’t find a man, we don’t protect the ball.  We inevitably turn over the ball instantly, even from attacking throw ins, and within 2 passes we often find ourselves stretched, overloaded and defending a dangerous counter.

Conversely, it feels like the opposition throw ins find players in space with options to then build an attack.

Actually, very representative of when the ball is in general play. But it frustrates me more from our attacking throw in which is an opportunity to pin a team back, not gift them the freedom of the park.

  2. Probably a ridiculous thing to say, but hey I’m superstitious….does anyone else think it’s better having away fans in the Chaddy than in the Lookers Lower. Even when there’s only 100 of them, having them in the Lookers Lower, close to the pitch and the away team bench - it’s helps to urge on the opposition. Sticking em up high in the Chaddy, it feels a bit more detached and the opposiition can’t feed off the fans energy as much.

  3. It’s been a really bad performance so far. Very similar to a lot of our poor league performances. You have to credit Mickelover, their passing and movement has been good to watch. We can’t get near them. When we do get it, it’s either aimless balls forward that don’t stick, shit passes backwards or fancy Dan Gardner giving it away.

Hogan is playing right back and every time they switch play quickly down his side, he’s getting rinsed.

  4. Maybe the club were shocked to hear him say that he 100% wanted the job. I was. Thought he was just keeping things ticking over and was happy as Head of Recruitment. I’m glad Thommo did well although they were 6 games I’d expect us to get points from. The club were in a tough position once Thompson declared interest whilst they were interviewing for a new manager.

It is hard to look past his involvement in a scattergun recruitment strategy. And was his parting gift extending Sheron’s contract?
