At the risk of being predictable - St. David's (right outside the station) is as good as anywhere for a drink (three pubs to choose from I think), and last time we were there we were able to jump on a local service to St. James' that drops you off pretty close to the away end. So close, in fact, that at the end of the game we were able to catch the 5.05 back to town despite the game not finishing until 4.58!
  2. My inner sense of decency tells me 'tis but a foul rumour, sirrah. A beverage for those lacking discernment, surely.
  3. I've been in the Saddler's Club a couple of times and it really wasn't any great shakes, even if it was convenient (30 yards from the away turnstiles). The last couple of times we went there we did our drinking in the Wellington on Bennett's Hill in Brum. It is less than five minutes walk from New Street and if you like real ale you'll think you've died and gone to heaven. I'm not sure whether they sell lager or not.
