There seems to be a reasonable number of people who genuinely believe that players are being sent out with instructions to not close down, not tackle and boot the ball aimlessly upfield.

I don't understand or agree with their views on this but I respect their right to hold them.

You may, or may not be winding up the admins, but I’m thoroughly enjoying your moderated posts.

Keep it up, if you can.

Not really.  They're contracted, largely until June.  Can't imagine many of them will take, say, three months money rather than five - why would they? - so any reduction in financial commitment won't be very significant

Even if we have to pay up their full contracts, we’ll save on all the periphery stuff, like liability insurance, physio fees, lunches. I guess it all adds up.

    Disagree.

If or when he starts to win games all this controversy will melt away. It will make no difference whether you like him or not if he starts to win games.

    Disagree. Respectfully, of course.

An unloved manager is only ever one bad run of form away from the fans turning.

    He’s finished.

For the moment he is learning and improving under Gerrard at Rangers. His eventual level may be well be at a championship club - time will tell.

As someone pointed out, this is a thread about ex players so perfectly valid to post and speculate.  And he ain’t that long gone either.

And we’ve got a sell-on clause to fret about for the next couple of years.

you have a club employer going above and beyond and you have the usual negs having a go...…. now that's the shambles

Any grief aimed at Billy, if that’s who you are referring to, is misdirected.

Can’t get away from the fact that contacting 25 names on a list is not that difficult and it shouldn’t have got to this.

The EFL have already refused a request from AL to move us.

For a bit of balance, wouldn’t it have given AL more bargaining power with Blitz / The FLG if the EFL had given this a green light (even if it was never really our intention to move)?

FWIW, I suspect our glorious chairman would move us at a drop of a hat if it suited his interests.

Seems to have changed his mind on that according to yesterday. Is he lying now or was he lying on the radio?

Pete Wild said in the radio Manc interview that they didn’t interfere during his second spell.

When discussing the 2019/20 season they made it clear to him that their intention was to appoint a head coach and for them to deal with recruitment.

He couldn’t work under those circumstances and left.

Why are some fans looking to paint him as a liar?
