Is the JPT really that much of a distraction from the league? I mean of course I'd trade a JPT cup run for a good crack at promotion, but its really not adding that much extra to the fixture list. Not when players train every day anyway...
-
See how many of the last 20 FA Cup winners you can name without Googling.
Then try the same for the JPT.
And? If we got to Wembley for the JPT final there would be many a latics fan who would remember it for the first time they got to see Oldham play at Wembley, even after supporting them for well over a decade. The only other way that will ever happen is through the playoffs.

New grounds? What about new stands? When is building due to commence??
-
I presumed it was made akward due to it being a Sunday, looks like we'll have to get a coach which means no dicking around before/after the match.
:censored: Wembley! :censored: the FA! It's made worse that all our matches are on Wednesday/Friday evenings! Saturday afternoon and we'd have no problem!
The idea of making Weds and Fridays the international matchdays is one of FIFAs bright ideas isn't it?

Can't see it taking that long at all once contractors get on there for the size of it. No longer than a year surely.

UEFA Europa League
There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.
In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.
English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained.
Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League.
Basically, the FA cup is the #1 priority EL spot so it needs a champions league qualifying team to win it to go to the runner up. If the team finishing 5th in the premier league wins the fa cup, the fa cup spot goes to 6th in the league.

Not much i think most will be th 'capital' required for the stand
Would have hoped the source of the budget for the stand would have already been outlined before we had this cup run!!
-
I can't even remember the last time Oldham were in the draw for the 5th round.
-
Surely it must be a problem there is still remnants of the old stand so it's not that simple to just build a temporary thing on top?
-
Doesn't matter how well we play when you look at the result on paper does it!
On paper its a loss to a team who admist the promotion battle after holding them off for near 90 mins? Hmm...
-
Personally I wouldn't risk it. Is there any real rush to buy train tickets anyway or wait for a short time before its confirmed? I'm not sure how much you'd be standing to save buying 4 weeks before rather than after its all confirmed which surely should be anytime less than 2 weeks before?

Plus Nottingham is an awesome day out. Never got the chance to go to the City Ground when they were in our league so will make sure I get this one off at last.
-
So we're postponing Notts County away to play Notts Forest away? Alright then.
-
FA Cup.
Its always a terrible feeling going out of the cup when your number pulls out a big tie the next day. Wouldn't want to risk that.

I'm staying over in Durham on the 20th November when its Hartlepool away. Annoyingly with it being a midweek its impossible to get there midweek without a car which I won't have - would anyone be able to offer me a lift to this game from Durham? Thanks in advance
-
Of course if the new Broadway Stand ever reopens, Latics will immediately revert to the RRE being solely for the away fans surely?
-
Would bank on Braintree Town/Trannies on telly too.
-
3rd/4th November.
-
How many TV ties are there usually at this stage? I'd bank on Coventrys tie being on TV.
-
ITV are really trying to make sure this is padded out to last half an hour.
-
That would be becasue there isn't a place called Orient
I quite clearly meant Leyton
-
But what does it really change? I guess the big idea is to change the name to London to encourage sponsors, but are there really sponsors around dumb enough to choose "London Orient" over so many more of Londons bigger and more successful clubs? A move to the olympic stadium alone would make much more difference than a name change would.

DC never played for Storm. Had two stints for Phoenix though including last season.
I miss the Storm days. Now we have...this. Eugh.
