What on earth would be the point of playing Youths in friendlies? You want friendlies to build the team for the first League game.
It's a long old season. I'd have rather he made use of the full window and used the first two or three League games as friendlies if it meant getting a few higher quality players in. I doubt we'd have done much worse than we have by rushing and signing this group of no hopers anyway.
Although, he worryingly chose this group because he knew and trusted them.
-
He had 6 weeks to get a team together. Wasn't overnight!
He made a lot of signings almost instantly, and I seem to remember him mentioning the need to get a team out against Huddersfield.
In reality though we had almost two months until the end of the window and we were so far behind already, we'd have been better off playing the youths in the first couple of friendliest instead of signing the rabble we did.
It was a horrible situation to come in to but he definitely had more time than he makes out.
-
I've only been to two games this season, but would it be incorrect to say Osei has shown more signs of promise than any of the rabble we've got on loan?
The only one of the lot we actually own and he doesn't seem to get a look in...
-
It's a good gesture but I think the recent two games for £20 offer proved money isn't the real issue, it's the piss poor football.
-
I listened to that and found it very interesting...
He also gave excellent insight into why Winchester doesn't hold down a regular first team place. He didn't use the term scapegoat once so I'm sure many will disagree with his analysis if you can be bothered finding it.
I think I'll trust the opinion of Lee Johnson over Steve Eyre.
-
Take it you went today with your criticism of Winchester? If not why judge him, if the manager says he's been working hard and improving his fitness isn't that good enough for you?
Strange how Winny is introduced into the team and his two starts result in two wins for the team, why the :censored: anyone would want to get on his back after being part of a winning team is beyond me.
A very good technical player who is perceived as lazy or "doesn't work hard enough" I could be describing any one of a number of players our fans haven't rated down the years.
-
We've been saying that the past 4-5 years, move on.
Who's been saying it for 5 years? He's had one full season under an excellent manager and he won player of the year...
He doesn't fit under our current defensive system clearly, but you should probably stop watching football if you think Klok is a better footballer, or Banks has proved to be more worthy of a place on the bench.

Jahraldo Martin from Hull according to one guy on Twitter.
-
Oh, aye and Winchester is the answer then??? FFS, somebody better tell Robinson (and nearly every other manager over the past five or six years) he's got it all wrong!!!
Time to get rid of the lazy, idle :censored:!!!
The only manager to correctly use and get the best out of Winchester, now manages in the Championship. It's not a coincidence.
-
No room for Winchester between the three defensive midfielders on the pitch, it's going to be a season full of goals and excitement clearly.
-
I think it's just a case of Kidderminster wanting the fee released, while we never do that.
If we release this fee, it encourages the constant moaning once the normal 'undisclosed' fees resume when we next sell a player.

One joined a much bigger club for arguably more money and favourites for promotion. Holloway went to Fleetwood.
That doesn't answer the question...

Was on loan/trial at Barnsley from stalybridge last year... Must've of impressed them
Difficult to get in the team and impress when they were flying though.
-
Two giant centre backs signed, in July...?
-
Apparently it's actually Oxford. The bastard.

The guy on Twitter says it's all sorted on the condition he signs a new contract at Boro.
-
Looking at all the teams I couldn't say with any confidence that I would really fancy us to finish above any of them.
Walsall were a bigger price a few weeks ago but 11/2 seems ok when you look at the players they have lost.
Conversely, how many teams can you say with any confidence will definitely do well?

Ripley
Law
Burgess
Clarke
Edmundson
Reckord
Klok
Winchester
Flynn
Erwin
Mckay
Not far off now, are we?
Definitely need another left back and midfielder/winger you'd think.

And Norwood tweeted his confusion at being linked with us
Maybe different players coming in to who we thought.
Not necessarily. He didn't seem happy that a guy on Twitter had said Norwood told him he was signing for us. He didn't deny he was.
-
To be brutally honest, I hope the 4 coming in by Tuesday are all guaranteed first team starters.
There certainly wasn't enough there today to suggest we'll hold our own in league 1 next season.
I know we're not done but more of the same won't be enough. Time to up the ante.
Time to make that team look like they have goals in them. It certainly didn't look like that today.
Of course we need more quality, but the majority of that squad have been in training for a week.
-
Wasn't BP a big fan of Banks? Or was that Gardner?
With Burgess coming in as well he may spontaneously combust.
-
With Wigan's forwards there's no way they'll want McKay back unless they're seriously depleted.
They're another level now and I wouldn't be surprised if he's made available for a transfer away at the end of the season, assuming they stay up.
If he's banged in 20 goals I'm sure they'll be taking him back and shifting him on in January.

Dear blue and Dazzman
I don't have the dimensions yet but I believe the proposed location, emphasis on proposed will be somewhere were it can seen from all three home stands
Hope this helps
Well done to everybody.
How did we go about securing a video scoreboard in the end, given the original target was 120k? Not that it matters like, just out of interest.
I presume it's somewhat smaller than the one we hoped to get initially.
Robbo Out!

Sometimes a manager just belongs at a football club...
