Sheridan has him down as training today and a possible for Saturday?
-
He did ok, I mean it was a fairly poor game, strange to single him out.
-
Until Lafferty returns to Burnley, yes.
Dummigan, Lafferty, Palmer, Holloway and now Main. Max five loan players in a match day squad.
Isn't it six?
Edit: Nope, I'm wrong.
-
1 in 3 starts reads better.
The DR forum doesn't.
Could substitute anyone of around a dozen Latics forwards' names into that thread and pop it on here.
Sometimes a change of scenery is required. How many hopeless forwards at BP have gone on to have decent goal scoring records?
I just take opposition views fans on a player with a pinch of salt. The list is endless of players that move on after being rendered useless by their current clubs fans and go on to do well. Not least from our club.
-
I know but someone is going to be upset not making the team out of Poleon/Cassidy/Murphy/Forte/Holloway/Main
Don't think we'll see Poleon or Forte up front again from here on out. We can finally utilise them on the wing with options up top.
-
Agreed.
Nice to have a striker who can win headers and hold the ball up well. Seemed to be getting double marked as soon as he came on, so he must have been doing something right.
Loved him clattering in to their left side centre-back. Aggression is something Cassidy just doesn't seem to have in his game.
-
It will be a kid if we are getting someone from Wigan, no chance it will be Davies.
They don't really have any...
Their strikers are Grigg, Davies, Colclough, McAleney (loan) and Vuckik (loan) with Andy Kellet able to do a job up top.
-
Certainly looks like he can take care of the ball, if he can learn to take care about being offside all the better...
Looked very eager to make an impression, could have been down to that.
-
Unless its not a striker? Looking at their squad, Sanmi Odelusi is a young winger who hasn't played much for them.
Out for the rest of the season, apparently.
-
As far as I can see on their website, top scorer Grigg and Colclough (who has just signed) are their only contracted strikers aside from Davies, so I don't see who else it could be.
-
how much is shirtliffs inflence on the defence begining to show kept a team bang on form who scored 12 in there last four to a nil excelent work
We looked solid and well organised at the back today, even James Wilson looks galvanised.
A couple of times they were able to cut inside from the left, but as side above, Wildschut is a good player and Dummigan & Forte (who tracked back and worked hard) dealt with it for he most part.

Was right there with Bury as the best of the season.
There have been some grim away days in the last few months, Crewe in particular, but it really felt like fans and the players were united again today, ready to fight to the end of the season.
-
I must have missed something in the few days I have been away.....I thought Palmer had turned out just twice for us...1 win I loss 1 goal scored........however I read on here that he has been canonised, called up for the England team, attracting Barcelona's attention.....there must be some bloody good judges on here if they can declare he is a top player after less than 2 games
Let's wait and see
You're the only one exaggerating. He's played well, that's all that's been said.

Saw Lewis Grabben for Palace recently on TV. Didn't he have an unsuccessful spell with us?
To be honest I'd be interested in Eyrsey lad back on the wing at the moment ;-)
Grabban plays for Norwich, doesn't he? They bought him from Bournemouth for a big fee.
Edit: Sorry, he went from Norwich to Bournemouth...
-
Not being funny, but what is the basis you think him a decent signing? We're in deep stuff and need proven not gambles.
The talk this morning was of another striker coming in before Tuesday as well.
Perhaps he will be an experienced forward. Regardless, we're in the position now where we might have to take a bit of a gamble on a couple of players.
-
Sounds like a decent enough signing this guy.
Seems like he was already League One bound next season, refusing to sign a new deal at Wycome. Wonder if this is a loan with a view to buying?
-
Wasn't it a blinder, against crewe possibly (I could be thinking about someone else here).[/quote
Brentford I have in my head.
-
A few weeks ago against Millwall...
Edit: Sorry, thought you meant called off...
-
All we need now is Dec666 and It'll be indistinguishable from an episode of the 3 Stooges
Rest assured, I'm never too far away from a conversation involving Danny Philiskirk or my beloved Carl Winchester.
-
They couldn't care less if you sit in the new stand or not, they've still got your money.
As long as people are sat in those boxes and the executive rooms are full, nothing else really matters.
-
Isn't it great though since Philli isn't playing in our midfield? You must admit it's great going to the game knowing that isn't going to happen.
What's that Winchester done since taking his place on the team sheet?
-
I reckon we've signed Holt. Gordon mentioning a big name signing and then Holt being released days later, it makes sense.
-
Just had a look on their forum and there's a fair few 'worst team we've played' comments. General concensus from them seems to be that we lacked quality but had desire...
Hardly a glowing endorsement but after recent weeks, definitely take the positives.
Really needed that!
I've waited over two months to hear opposition fans angrily label us the worst team they've played. It feels great.
-
Corney himself said he thinks we need 3 or 4 when he appointed Sheridan. What kind of wages he has in mind for those four players, I'm not so sure.

Got to say I didn't fancy us at half time, felt very much like the last two games, just snatching at every chance.
Brilliant assists from Palmer and Wilson for the goals.
