I've watched many games this season on iFollow both home and away and I would like to say the atmosphere at BP has been consistently one of the better in the division. A lot of singing, funny shouts and the crowd always seems engaged with the game. I used to think the BP atmosphere wasn't great when I went but I have been pleasantly surprised this season, especially as a lot of the football has been dire. Well done to everyone who makes the effort to get down BP every week.

The idea that home fans are going to stand up singing for 90 minutes is fanciful, you don't see it at any ground in the country. Like you say, our fans are passionate and actually react to the game. The amount of times I've been to away games, watched the home fans and thought "do this lot even care?" You notice it a lot.

What needs to happen for us to stay up? Realistically..

I think we have to win both. Hope dale slip up.

4 points. Like I've said, you've got to back to 1994 for the last time a side in this league went down with 52 points. Fulham.

I've checked now and I'm right. I think.

We'd be on 54, Dale would only be able to get 53.

People on here always get hung up on what total we need.

The last time a side went down with more than 51 points in this league, we weren't even in it.

and like I alluded to, imo he will be exciting at times but very frustrating as Saturday will not happen every week. I hope it is but I very doubt it will be a difficult decision for Wellens.

I watch the players overall game, positioning, runs they make and when, first touch, if they lift there head etc etc He scored 2 great goals which means most Latics fans are now blind to the rest of his game. Give em a few weeks to catch up.

I hope he smashes 10 more but 10 minutes aside out of 3 games im cant see it yet.

We all bow down to your greater expertise ???

I get all this Edmundson talk I do. I like him myself, a lot. But I’m sure he’s gonna go back to Fylde on loan isn’t he ? Unless RW is like your traditional OWTB poster and is gonna judge off the 1 game ? If he wouldn’t have had a good game plenty would be saying send him he’s not good enough etc. It seems the move there has done him good and sending him back I reck will be best for his development. It could be a great example of using the loan system well for us. Then he could be our main man next season in a team not struggling , with any luck

He's had way more than one game for the first team to be judged on.

What were the good things he did that I missed?

I recall him moving the ball on nicely in a couple of semi threatening moves early on but then, very quickly, he was largely uninvolved for the rest of the game until he was taken off.

Other players would have been crucified for his tackling (or lack of) and attempts to win headers.

I don't want to appear to be going all palmer1 on him (  I hope I'm back in this thread in a week to say how good he was against Peterborough) but people keep replying and pretending he was good when he clearly wasn't.

I'm not saying he did anything good, he just didn't anything shit. He didn't really do much at all after the first half an hour or so.

I just think saying he was shit was a bit harsh.

He didn't seem very comfortable in that position to me though.

Tackling wasn't all he didn't do

    Fucking hell, the downboats!

I thought he was shit but, unlike many on here would, I'm not writing him off on the back of one bad game.

Hopefully he'll come good once he gets into the swing of it.

I don't remember him doing anything that could be described as shit.

He looked decent on the ball the few times he had it, he just wasn't involved in that game that much.

From what I've read he's not a central midfielder at all so it seemed odd to play him there.
