Simon, please keep your chin up. I'm gutted too and can't think straight at the moment. I will be at the game though travelling from Lincoln via Nottingham. Latics are in my blood and soul, a piece of me will die if the club did.

Rochdale is a no-go, as is Bury with FCUM sharing there.

At the moment I'm very down over the whole situation. The council have shown that they are totally useless; the town deserves far better. They have destroyed a place that used to be vibrant. The whole town has been left behind. If we move I will probably never go to the town of Oldham again. I love Latics but have no love for Oldham anymore.

A memorial service for Richard Butcher is being held today (2 Feb) at Sincil Bank starting ay 13:30. I will be attending and paying my respects. If any other Latics fans are in the area I hope to see you there.

All time favourite was the Light of Bengal (Union St) - finishing off place after the christmas night out pub crawl. Admttedly, not been for quite a few years - don't even know if it still exists. Perhaps someone will enlighten me on that.
I remember going in the L.O.B. on my mates stag night (I was his best man). After several beers he always used to drink whiskey and lemonade. He was so drunk I asked the waiters that when he asked for whiskey and lemonade, they serve him just lemonade with ice in a whiskey glass. The time came and the lemonade arrived as requested. As he was so far gone he never noticed. Happy days.

Living in Lincoln I saw Richard both at Sincil Bank and at Boundary Park. He lived quite close to me and I often saw him in the local area. I presented him with the champagne moment after his first goal for Latics against Bradford City on Boxing Day (2005 I think). He was such a likable and honest young man. All the players and fans at Macc must be gutted after this news coming so soon after the death of Keith Alexander. I know he will be in Keith's team in heaven. RIP Richard.

Was that the guy were "sold" to Manure all those years ago and caused Fergie to hate us ever since?
What happened? I don't remember anything about that.

How much of a fan would you consider yourself?
Season ticket holder living in Lincoln
Do you think there are certain things a Latics fan should never do?[/b]
Want Utd or City to win ever.
How do you react after a defeat?
Gutted can't speak for hours (I was very quiet last season)
Whats the most important thing about the matchday experience the result or the day in general?
The anticipation of a good result. (last season tested all my match day expeience)
If you were given £1,000,000 would you go and support your main rivals?
It's not going to happen is it?
Do you have a Latics tattoo?
No

My son & I are going, but I suppose it's just down the road for us (closer than a 'home' game). I'd be happy with a point right now but I'm sure the Latics players will believe they can win this game.

David Pleat is head and shoulders the worst pundit to have ever graced national television.
I remember David Pleat commenting on a match and stating the following "This player literally has no left foot". He must have kicked the ball with the soggy end I suppose?

and the value of installing proper CCTV is shown again... Why do people bother to install such crap equipment ?
You would suspect their parents would recognise them from their clothes... Would you turn your kids in ?
Yes

Mick "bigger b@stard than Mick Wadsworth" Wadworth strikes again. Could be in the running for the worst manager of all time.

They're doomed....doomed I say!

My son got good grades and has accepted a place at Nottingham. He'll still be going to several matches with me though.

his dad would like to say hello...
Hello...
-
I bet he rifles one into the net.

The did appear to be a larger crowd than the official figure.

rummy...everyone i think in general likes good open honest healthy debate over all things latics and football and the like in general...what gets my goat is the simple fact certain people moan and groan without first knowing the full facts, and just for the sake of having a go at the club....difference of opinions are what makes the world go round, but constant slagging doesnt do any good to anyone.
There are far too many, both on here and on the rarely wrong Chron site who just moan and slag for the sake of it.
-
Has it occurred to all the moaners that the decision to not disclose the fee could have been at Bolton's request?

The most famous goal in our FA Cup history, by a mile, was Mark Hughes's volley.........
Should that not be the most infamous goal? It was a goal that changed the course of Latics History. It broke my heart and ruined my football life.
-
You should have gone to the game or should read the post match thread; it was nothing like the Latics of last season. They had effort, commitment and skill. None of that was shown last season!
-
For me he will always be remembered by being called Lisa by by Jeff Stelling and the boys whenever he scored on the soccer saturday show.
Adam R.I.P.
Those where my thoughts exactly when I heard the sad news.

Even though we lost the team gave everything. What was really noticeable was the fact that every player was gutted at the end to have lost. They seem to have a belief that they can win every game and are disappointed when they don't. It was great to see some passion, effort and no little skill. I heard several comments amongst the fans about how much better it was over last season. To the stay-aways, get down to BP and witness for yourself the change in the club.

I think you mean vacuum, hoover's merely a brand name (said in my best Alan Partridge style voice).
I quite agree but everyone knew what the meaning was and I was quoting from another source (I also know that the comments should therefore been within quotation marks). However, thank you for your feedback.

The town doesn't deserve a club.
