  1. Bids for four players have been agreed with their agents and hopefully they will be completed next week once they return from holiday.”

Big week next week - fixtures out on Thuursday, four new players to sign (I'll have Abbott, Clarke, DeMontagnac & Llera thanks)

I thought the fixtures were out on Wednesday?

  2. In yesterday's poll I said I wouldn't buy a season ticket but would attend home games.

Well, this decision means I will not pay 20 quid a fortnight unless players who are as good as Gregan and Hughes are brought in to replace them.

Best player and leading scorer gone and our own fans linking us with League 2 players is not making for an inspiring summer.

    Surprise me, Dave.

And that will really help won't it.

  3. I have to admit i wasn't there today. I planned to be but i'm currently making a short documentary for uni on my second team Whitby town and due to some circumstances it was either film it today or fail my course. Now i've had a bad day football wise. Whitby lost and now it's very probable they are going to go down. Worse than that. Latics lost. I was shocked and i couldn't believe that after all the hype and excitement this week we'd lost. I've read alot of the stuff on here, both the bad stuff and the stuff trying to shine abit of hopefull light on the situation and i agree with bits from both. I don't know as much as alot of the fans on here, i'm only 19 and i've only supported the blues since ronnie moore's last season. So not too long. Alot of people are saying that this season is over now, i don't think it is at all but fair do's to them. I think we can still get 6th place. Joe's only had a week and the two new lads have had less than that so lets be fair to them. Alot of our players do need to go, they seem to think they can coast it, theres no passion and without passion whats the point in football?? Personally (and this IS just how i feel) i think we need promotion to keep us stable financially. To hopefully bring in bigger crowds and create new fans. As far as the football side is concerned i'd be absolutley ecstatic if we went up, BUT a few days later i know that i'd be dreading the next season. As things are now, if this team goes up, we'd be battered around the championship like no one's buisness. I'd still be at every match i could get to but what if we came straight back down and ended up off even worse than we are now. All hypotheticals of course but i think alot of people need to put our current situation into perspective. Could be a hell of alot worse.

Finally i just want to ask. Who could stop supporting latics? Could you say right i'm off to support city or rochdale or stalybride. Or even Oldham Town (who are doing quite well at the moment). I know i couldn't but maybe thats because i havn't had the latics bug as long as others, i don't know. If you could leave the latics behind then say so and call me an idiot (it wouldn't be the first time i've been called that) if you don't think you could then hows about we give the team our full support. Just these last eight games, next season is next season. Lets concentrate on what we might be able to do now.

I won't say keep the faith because i know we're all trying our best to

So sensible for one so young. Well said.

  4. Having supported Latics all my life, i have really become so frustrated and after today have decided never to walk into Boundary Park again, until I see a team that is gonna fight for the club.

Quite simply why do I pay my money every home game to see dross like that? It was an embarrasment.

Obviously, some fans will just say "bye then!" to this statement.

I dont get my money back for watching a team with a lack of passion and commitment do I? So why should they pick up their over-inflated wage packet week in week out? So I will no longer give them my 20 quid a game.

These are classed as professional people, was that a professional display today? 8 year old kids heads' drop when they're losing, not professional footballers!!

    Eardley you are a joke!

    R.I.P Latics! :ranting:

And that really helps the club doesn't it?

  5. It appears that the dressing room is in turmoil; something has been wrong all season. It started with the Davies saga and from then on I always had a feeling that BP was not a happy place. Changes are needed and that has to start with a change of manager and the sooner the better. We will not make the play-offs and the new person should be in before the start of the season in order to have time to sort out the coming close season chaos.

  6. Earlier today I witnessed what can only be described as shocking behaviour by so called professional footballers.

Laughing and joking together in the street, in broad daylight. Well excuse me don’t they realise the predicament we’re in? Struggling to hang on to a play off spot, losing ground daily and all they can do is laugh and joke together? Its Sheridan’s (sorry Shezza’s) fault no discipline you see lets the players do as they will. Coaching badges come cheap but having the integrity to stamp some discipline on these herberts is down to natural ability it can’t be taught.

Worse followed, some of them got into cars and drove away, the day before a match. It’s a joke, what if they are involved in a RTA, or worse get a jarred neck, or arm or knee etc because they accidentally drive into a pothole in the road, or worse Latics own car park.

I’m not even going to mention the fact that some appeared to be eating toast, with what appeared to be butter on it. Its time the club came clean and issued a statement, the players involved named and shamed and exact details of their punishments detailed in minutiae. If not it will really show that this club has no respect for itself or more importantly, much more importantly us the fans.

The events of the last few days have opened my eyes, and brought me too my senses. Sheridan must go now, anytime before 3pm tomorrow will do. If you want a nomination for his replacement, well step forward Stan Ternent, he’d sort them out and promotion would be guaranteed, fact.

    I can't believe it's not butter!

  7.

I went to Thailand-Iraq with ThaiLatic. He's like the Oldham consulate out there! :D I had a bloody fun day (did you have to drink your beer from a plastic bag?) and was suprised that the standard is not all that bad.

No we could drink as much beer as we wanted without any problems. The approach play was good but the finishing was very poor. I went on the pitch at the end and I was very surprised that the grass was so long. It must have been energy sapping.

  8. When you put Goram in goal you must be talking about his second spell at Boundary Park. In his first spell he was very good. Good enough to be seleted for the World Cup whilst still a Latics player (admittedly it was Scotland).

Wayne Gill surely has to be one of the worst ever players we've had. He was lightweight with no skill; not a great combination for a midfield player. Clegg also has to have been a shocking buy.

I would vote for Mick "sacked again for being cr*p" Wadsworth as the worst manager for the worst team.
