  1. For those who think we are making too much of this incident, let me inform you that we are likely to face a very heavy fine from the FA. Everyone can turn a blind eye to fans being on the piutch at the END of the final game of the season but we have no excuse during a match. As I said our stewards have had constant problems all season with the conduct of UNSUPERVISED KIDS who chose to ruin it for other people. None of us should have to put up with this for the £10 it costs. Do we want the mindless ones as future fans, I think not. Nobody wants to drive the youth away from Boundary Park and I am pretty sure that concessions will be offered to certain age groups who are accompanied by an adult season ticket holder. We cannot continue to act as baby sitters for out of control kids. Sorry !!!!!!. Barry
  2. As many fans have latched onto, the problem as far as the FA are concerned in that the encroachment occurred during the game. Many refs would prefer not to include in their report but are duty bound to do so. Mr Madeley our ref today understood the excitement of the occasion but as he says these things are spotted on TV and by other reports. If the ref did not act he would be in serious trouble. Large sections of the young fans have been troublesome throughout the season and extra work and additional stewarding has been necessary. This comes at a cost. Some posters on the site have referred to extra stewarding and policing. Believe me that is not a path we want to tread. Money spent in that area affects the playing side of the operation. Yes I did say the Board would need to review the pricing policy for the younger fans and in particular the £10 ticket. We do not want to dissuade young fans from coming to games but we also have a responsibility to ensure that many other fans have a trouble free afternoon. THe whole area of young fan supervision and who they attend with together with the pricing policy needs to be looked at in the interests of the club and ALL fans. Barry PS Sorry for late post. Just got up for a brew. Can't sleep with the excitment of staying up. lololololol
  3. :Please look out on the official site for the club announcement that I have prepared with the Chief Executive. The referee has no alternative but to include this invasion in his match report that is likely (after a similiar event on Tuesday) to land us with a fine by the FA. The club will also review footage of CCTV imagines and consider appropriate action against those who do our club no favours. Subsequently the Board of Directors will be looking into a range of issues regarding youth members in particular the £10 ticket. More upsettting is the news that the Crawley Supporters Coach was attacked by persons and we await the police report in that respect. With regard to the encroachment, any fine we receive is likely to be substancial. Other than that chaps well done for your fantastic support today. Barry
  4. Come on boys I want to really pack the Shaw Playhouse Theatre Barry
  5. Get your tickets for this one. This Manager is looking forward to meeting the fans who attend, Tony P. will be there with Weslowski and Jose Baxter. Lets give the manager a bit attendance. Greenfield Brewery in attendance. Hope you like their beers. Whilst I think we are pretty safe now it wiould be nice to finally celebrate next week. Don't want to count my chickens etc but I think we are over the line. You can either contact Rick A. or speak to Mike at the Junction for your tickets. Anmy problems just e mail me or post accordingly. Barry
  6. It is expected that Jose Baxter will be at the event on the above date. More to follow when I get back from the game. But book your tickets with Rick Attwood asap. Barry
  7. Rudematic I do not agree with your comments about ALL ticket problems. You are far better knowing beforehand what tickets are sold and you can plan accordinlgy. Those that would turn up without a ticket in these circumstances would be very few. You are likely to have a more volatile crowd when supporters are so upset when some had bought tickets etc.as with last Saturday. Fans turning up without tickets do not deserve any consideration if they do so knowing it is an all ticket game and can be policed accordingly. You say that our club could be blamed to a lesser extent. What do you mean and in what respect.? Barry
  8. Thanks Rummy. Perhaps a slight misunderstanding. To the contrary, the other members of the Board (club) fully appreciate my role when it comes to representing the fans and would expect me to further enquires when a large number of our fans were affected. I am sorry if you got the impression that we may have taken somewhat of a smug position on the basis that ours was not the club involved. That is not the case. We have to be careful how far down the line we go in questioning another clubs authority and planning and certainly when we question how that clubs safety officer may have been involved together with the level of police planning. Of course if you take it too far it can have the effect of biting you on the bum. I do however agree with you that in the process of planning by another club good liasion should exist by us co-operating with the home club with any information we may have. This occurred but the final decisions rest with the Home club as to whehter the game was all ticket and what restriction would apply. In doing so the decisions they made would be made after consultation with the Bury Police.
  9. Rummy I can't do right for wrong. I get crticised when I don't make comment or appear not to represent the fans and when I do you chose to say I am being superior. That is not the case. I was merely saying a well done to the fans and telling those who could not get in that I was intent in investigating matters from the Oldham prospective. Your apparent view that in some way Oldham bear some resposibility is perhaps born out of ignorance as to how these things work. There is communication between the parties but at the end of the day the initiative rests with the home club in all matters affecting safety and match day arrangements. As someone has pointed out we have already proved our efficiency with excellent arrangements for the cup games when all the agencies worked closely to ensure a good day for all. I did'nt need to post last night and perhaps thats what you would prefer in the future. Barry
  10. I am embarrassed by the complete shambles that occurred through no fault of ours. Had this occurred at Oldham I would obviously be looking at the preparations and arrangements. How much money did they lose . Perhaps £10.000 plus. The issue re compensation is difficult because unless identified at the time it would be difficult to address which fans were affected. Whether contract law has been broken I do not know because I have not seen Bury FC terms and coniditions of sale. Did they enter into a contract when they sold the ticket and by a fan not getting admission is he then subject to gaining damaages for lost time, travelling, inconvenience etc. Interesting thought but taking a case to court would cost more than the damages you would get. Having said that you could apply for the costs in the case. Not a course of action I would recommend but nevertheless interesting. Barry
  11. First of all congratulations to the team on a great win. Not the best performance, (second half better than first and some good substitutions) but a win that we deperately needed and worked hard for. I often compliment our vocal away support but really ladies and gents you were terrific today . I know the players were really pleased and know that it helps them immensely. The sound coming from that stand was something different. Take a pat on the back each and every one of you. On a totally sour note can I apologise to all those fans who did not get in to see the game. Let me say from the outset that totally responsibility for match day arrangement rests with the home club and it is up to them to make preparation with the local agencies and the police. Having said that we are a responsible club that looks afters it fans (contrary to opinion in some quarters). I am often criticised for not supporting the fans but that is not correct. Wehn incidents occur such as this I do believe that it necessary for certain questions to be asked regarding the match day arrangements and the role of the home club and the police in a situation that did not allow a large number of fans to gain access. There may be a perfectly good explanation as to the numbers expected, based on intellligence and arrangements made accordingly with safety in mind. Segregation of fans does not allow for last miunte arrangement to be made in many cases. I am currently looking at the situation and hope that our win takes a little bit of the heat out of the disappointment. Barry
  12. And by the way Lee was not the cheap option. He was the best candidate. As simon C has told a number of fans, we had quite a few of the more experienced and seasoned managers offering to do the job this season for NOTHING. You have to ask yourself why these managers are out of work in the first place. !!!!!!!!!! Barry
  13. Carl. You hit on some interesting points. The catering as you know is contracted out and we are constantly reminding he company of the issue you raise. Programmes are expensive and we are not the only club to re-use then for a re-arranged game. Most fans are interested in the articles in the programme and not merely the names that appear on the squad list for the game. We are currently looking into all aspect of the web use at the club and I am the first to admit that there could be improvements. All the Board are "digitally" minded even to the point of looking at the feasibility of an on line programme. Whether this would be possible in being looked at along with other initiatives. Barry
  14. M ypost chaps was a rallying call. I have ready all the responses but cannot answer every one. I do not believe we will go down and merely mentioned the players being away from home when it appears there is less pressure on them. Rightly or wrongly they do seem to get very nervous at home, certainly when things are not going so well. Dare I mention it, but the away support does appear to be more forgiving when bad things happen. Hindsight is a great thing and perhaps managers should go earlier when you look back . However you always have a belief that someone will turn it around. Barry
  15. Ryan . I have not suggested anyone has on this site but I have received quite a number of personal messages that the appointment was wrong, some of them received tonight. I have merely pointed out that he was given the last ten games to make good and will continue to do his best. Quite honestly he is like a breath of fresh air, a man who cares a great deal about players, in particular the younger ones who need guidance and help both on and off the field. Barry
  16. I agree with what you say and believe it or not I do not think some of our players have the mental strength to cope with home games when the going gets tough and the fans get edgy with them.(which is not uncommon at any ground) At the moment it might sound daft but I think we are better off playing away. Whatever the faults tonight and there were plenty of them, there was a lot of commitment whilst the players remained fit to compete. You will remember that the manager has commented recently about the ability of the team to play out 90 minutes and this is becoming evident as the games pass. Barry
  17. First of all I thought our away support was brilliant again tonight. The Preston Directors commented on the noise that was made. I know fans are feeling pretty low at the moment and the same frrustrations are felt throughout the club. I thought we were in for a 0-0 draw and could have snatched it with a little bit of luck. Giving away a stupid penalty was not fair overall to the teams efforts. As hard as it is we have to remain positive but I truly believe we will stay up because I think that Scunthorpe are a worse team than us. We need to take a massive following to Bury and cheer the team on. Negativity will get us nowhere. Every game in now a cup tie and if that does not sink inhto the players nothing will. Lee Johnson is doing everything in his power to turn things around but I think some fans forget that we were 36 games into the season when he arrived and cannot be blamed for our current plight. He is also working individually with some of the younger players whose confidence has taken a massive knock this season for one reason or another. We are all in this together and need to show fighting spirit to the end. Keep the Faith Barry
  18. I have a couple of cry offs. Anyone else like to attend. I will confirm your place if more than two. Barry
  19. You are assuming a cheap option. That is not correct. A lot of the journeymen would have worked for less believe me. I cannot go into personal details for obvious reasons but the practicalities of Ian Dowie in respect to his personal commitments would have been very difficult to overcome. His media work is very important to him. I think you would also agree that given the finances at our club we would not want to mortgage ourselves to anything we might find difficult to pay. The cup money has nothing to do with anything. Manager contracts can be very expensive and the terms of a contract increases the better the applicant. On top of that you also have to consider the expense if an appointment does not work out and you can be liable for huge sums in paying a contract off. There are many considerations and you do not go into any appointment with a short term in mind. That does not give the right impression to the players and smacks of uncertainty. Hope this help a little. I also think people have got to remain grounded regarding the finances at our club and a lot of the cup money just means we lose less this financial year. Barry
  20. The prisoner confessed after 3 days lololololo. Answering some others. When the Chairman is away, other Directors have delegated powers. You are asking me to comment on failure before a new man is installed and I think that is inappropriate. Suffice to say that one fact is correct. The new manager cannot be held responsible for us currently being in the bottom 4 after 36 games. Nobody can give guarantees and nobody can suggest any manager, whoever he might be could wave a wand to get us out of trouble. I strongly beleive we will stay in the Division. . I will get no thanks for patronising the Chairman but he is much maligned at times. He works tirelessly for our club and is passionate about what he does. He sacrfices a great deal in the name of the club and I have no reason to believe he will not be around in the future. He always say the club is for sale to the right person and it would have to be the right person. He says this in the interest of our club believing that greater investment would cure some of our ills. I for one would not want him to sell and I believe that the construction of the new stadium will be the start of better things over the long term. There is nobody more upset or disappointed about our season than the Board and we are doing everything in our power to turn it around. Barry
  21. lololololol BP1960. Looking forward to this new experience.! Ibby or Royle Army. You have personally e mailed me on this subject. How many user names are you using on this site. It is getting confusing.! I have based my offer for next week because I am aware that Simon C. has got many business commitments home and abroad in the next few weeks. I can assure everyone that we work closely as a Board of Directors and it is totally unfair that Simon C. gets the blame on each occasion. If you want to direct criticism all the Directors are involved and will be accountable. Barry
