Yes Porter was a c**k towards the club, but if he can stay fit and score 15-20 goals and do his best for us and WANTS to be here (assuming he is signing) then all will soon be forgotten.
If he is signing the Corney must have forgiven him, so if he can personally accept him back then thats OK by me (again, assuming he is signing)
we would certainly have some strength up front anyhow, porter, smith, reid - although the possible lack of pace may worry me; I suppose though if we get them in the box where we need them and morais and taylor can whip balls in then its goal goals goals!
whoever we are going to sign will have deficencies somehow or other, be it pace, fitness whatever.
PD has next to no money at the end of the day. He can only get a certain type of player with that money and we need to back him come what may. We will get who we get and that's that.

I'm not really bothered about what he previously 'did' to us. With money tight to say the least I'd be worried if we took such a gamble on a player who has consistently missed large chunks of the season through injury.
If we are going to make a signature striker signing, who will no doubt be on relatively good money, then we need to have some confidence that he is going to be available.

If it is McDonald, reminds me of our apparent offer to Billy Clarke a couple of years ago. Creates a bit of excitement and interest but really the club must know our chances are slim to say the least as every lower league club will be in for him, and maybe even 1 or 2 in the Championship.
The club wouldn't put anything on the OS unless it was more or less a done deal though would they...?!

If our financial predicament is as bad as we are being led to believe, then surely we will be lucky to be starting the first game of next season with any of our 'saleable' assets (Taylor, Furman, Lee & Stephens) still at the club?

Just think Dickov should have opted for someone a bit more experienced. Might be wrong, but was my initial feeling when he was appointed in the summer.

The biggest mistake Dickov has made is appointing GT as his assistant IMO.

erm...did we not have all that pressure from the start of the second half for 10 mins,corner after corner throw in after throw in crosses coming in with them penned into there own penalty area????? or was i watching a different game????
we didnt make the pressure count,we needed to score in those instances and im sure rochdale would have crumbled....brill went the right way for pen,but why was we too slow to react....hazells fault for second,pissin about again,he had the ball so why not the simple out of play let players get back,instead of dickin about,losing control and bang....
the ref..well the less said about him the better...total fool,i sincerley hope he gets reported by dickov,some very ludicrous decisions....
big big test now..defence needs shaking up..taylor isnt a striker..midfield is devoid of ideas,kieran lee n aidy white brilliant,but not enough on the game yet again like saturday....
i hope dickov finally realises we need to change things..give fleming a chance and for gods sake get a striker in....
I agree, thought we did ok and deserved to win the game and were punished for 2 mistakes whilst not taking our own chances.

we had about 30 appeals for handball in their box. I reckon at least a couple of them were definite penalties. clown.
Especially considering the soft one we gave away at Hartlepool. At least 2 of our attempts on target struck a defenders arm.
Anyone get a good view of their pen? Was it soft or legitimate?

Not at all, i was very disappointed today, the whole day was flat.....the atmosphere, definitely the performance, until the last 5 mins.
We never seemed up for it and never really controlled the game, individual errors costly again!!!
How can you say we didn't control the game?
Look at the stats and the fact that Rochdale were camped in our half for the majority of both halves.
Dean Brill is an absolute liability, his handling is awful and I've never seen a 'keeper as poor at commanding his area.

Alan Hardy on GMR a bit ago...
- It has been obvious to AH this would happen for some time
- Budget is in place for this season and budget was set with this in mind
- Club looking for new investment and has been for some time, been a few interested parties in the past but none deemed to be in it for the long term!!
Didn't get the impression they were making way for someone to step in i.e. there is no backer to replace them
