  1. Chesterfield have not been promoted yet.....

Would you say that if they were stuck in that division?

He's got a bigger budget than most in that Division too...

but there not fighting relegation are they??

all im saying is that sheridan was up there penny isnt..simple as that..the football is sh**

ooooo were going leeds were going to get beat we wasnt saying that the last couple of seasons when we had a good manager who played good football...f off penny your sh**

ppl say let him do it in the next 5games, i say lets do it all season just like shez did, were feared no one not even everton wolves leeds leicester even gave burnley a run for there money in the two cup games...the 3nil score doesnt reflect the way we played

  2. As a coach and player, sheridan will always be a legend in my opinion, but as a manager he just didnt quite cut it for me and never learned from his mistakes.

    Pro's

    - Likes to play football how it should be played. The transition was certainly a nice period. We went from Ronnisaurus long ball tactics to trying to keep it on the floor with Shez. He got us to the playoffs with what was largely Ronniesaurus' squad.

    Cons

    - Quite often we had no plan B.

    - Always seemed to struggle against the ugly, more physical route 1 teams.

    - For large parts of 2007/2008, we also had an injury crisis to the extent that we could only name 4 subs, and we very rarely came from behind to win.

    - Rumoured to like his ale.

    - Was criticised openly by the Managing Director and Chief Executive for poor match preparation.

    - Too much power to his 'mates' and the older heads such as Crossley, Liddell, Gregan, Allott. It seemed to be a case of if your face fit, you played, if it didn't you got froze out.

    - Discipline!!!!(or lack of). This was the biggy, I'm sure on the night of the dogs, they were at a doo of some sort in the day. Sheridan obviously did not place any limitations on the amount the players could drink. And he also give the players too many days off before a key fixture (I'm sure it was the colchester game).

sheridan will learn from his mistakes at oldham...wonder weather the players call him shez or not???

    that would be a start

anyway my fav player as i seen him slot in a pen at OT many many years ago

    fergie time of about 6/7mins

  3. i did a none scientific study on monday. when we played football at failsworth soccer centre, at 7pm there were two games going on, six a side. one team had three subs, two had two, and one had none. there were also ten spectators and two refs. so thats thirty six people. i had never seen eight of them before, so thats twenty eight people. of these twenty eight, twenty lived in failsworth. and of these twenty, nine supported oldham. of the eight i didnt know, two had oldham shorts on and one had oldham socks on.

also im in failsworth library and the guy next to me supports oldham.

pretty pointless, but interesting all the same.

    :grin::dance::applause1:

  4. Your support was sh*te today. You probably only had about 700 there, with almost evry single fan sitting down. You only tried to make an atmosphere at the end of the game and only because you knew you had won.

Fair enough you probably deserved to win and you will probably stay up, but your team deserved better support today.

not very often that you hear other teams saying this....what was the score again??

  5. I think people are looking for excuses for not going.

Yes it's alot of money but I'll be there . I's been likely that it would be £27 from the beginning of the season. you could have saved up!!

been loads of times already, not that good

    playing :censored:e

    kids

    money

    tuesday night

so its not just the money same for hudds aswell

  6. Seasons greetings & all that malarky.

Oh dear, what a poor season we're both having eh !!! Ronnie & Shez are now both distant memories, both of us were left with apparent dog turd replacements. John Barnes & Jason McAteer were a disaster, Penney doesnt seem much better from the outside.

The replayed game at your gaff goes to show how poor we both are this season, but under Les Parry we are "hard to beat" but haven't got any goals in us, looking through the stats it seems scoring goals is your biggest problem too. Do you guys have any deadline signings lined up to solve your problems ?

Looking at your game at Stockport who seem to be getting better after their massive lull, looks a tricky edgy game on paper, any chance of the game being called off ? if so that cant be ideal for our game on Saturday.

About Saturday, we're decent at home & i fully expect us to beat you, with us possibly moving out of the drop zone if results go our way. All in all it should be a cracking atmosphere if you bring a few.

Come say hello www.thecowsheds.co.uk/forum or www.thecowsheds.co.uk is the news page.

this will prob be the 1st time you will bring a bigger away following than us.......
