I don't want to see us move from Boundary Park but part of me wants him make a decision to move just to stick it to the 3 thieves, there you go boys, enjoy your new £4m stand that nobody will want to buy
I was told by one of Bury's sponsors that Stewart Day had approached the club to see if we'd be interested in ground sharing in a new build ground somewhere between the two towns.
No idea if or how those talks have progressed unfortunately.

I think the bottom line is that, whilst there are a few debatable selections, the majority of that squad picks itself.
The lack of depth in England is really brought in to focus by this list I saw earlier of some of the players France have left out.
Benzema
Payet
Martial
Lacazette
Laporte
Coman
Gignac
Rabiot
Ben Yedder

Any idea what?
Nothing concrete but I think he's shown enough affinity for the club to genuinely want the best for us and, if he's heard of some potentially positive developments for us, I'm sure he'd want them to happen.
-
Wigan wanted him in January but only as back up, so he came back to us to play games.
I think he's had enough media training at City to know that would not be the way to announce signing for Wigan.
I think there's a possibility he may be referring to something else, rather than his own future.

We'll most likely have a far better relationship with the owners of the North Stand now Corney has gone
Quite probably. I was told about a year ago that Blitz and Corney had fallen out.

Interesting that the statement didn't provide an explicit statement on the manager's future.
He states that the manager was backed in January and that there will now be a thorough review of all aspects of the club.
If his job was definitely safe, I would have expected it to be confirmed in the statement. I suspect the Chairman might still be thinking about it.
-
Thinking about it again, this article might have been Wellens's attempt to get his side of the story out before he is gagged by the non disclosure clause in his pay off agreement - which probably being negotiated as I write.

Not that it matters now but what changed Wellens's approach?
In the first 10 games, we had a devil may care, Royle-esque, just score more than we concede game plan.
Was it the introduction of Jewell instead of Philliskirk as the 'voice of reason'? And who brought him in?
The start of the decline points to Jewell's influence as Lemsagem was still an outsider.
The change to a less cavalier approach seemed to coincide with Jewell's appointment.
But Wellens was asked this in an interview for last week's match programme and he said he changed style because of pitches deteriorating when winter set in.
-
He threw a little dig at AL in too . Said the club needs to change the way it recruits players and look at character as well, instead of just picking them off a piece of paper.

I know it’s cynical but my initial thought was it’s Wellens getting his excuses in early
Very possible. He's used his last 3 or 4 press conferences for that purpose.

Sounds like someone at that shitrag has an agenda and is trying to cause some upset the day before our big game.
I hope AL sues them
Yes, it does.
From what I can see the article is a mixture of things that we know are not true and rumours lifted off this site (e.g. Maouche on £4k a week, and the Fane suspension). Whilst the rumours on this site may well be true, I'd wager this is where they got it from rather than a "Boundary Park insider".
May be Dale fans paid the Sun to publish the article with the left over cash after they'd bought that weird Spanish guy's flight ?

Charlton planning to rest players for the Dale game....

He sounded fairly certain he'll be in charge for next season if they win on Sat in today's presser.
He did, but he wasn't quite so confident when the journalists asked him (usually the part 2 that comes out on Friday). Apparently he said that his situation was no different to the players, and the owner had decided there would be no discussions on anybody's future until after Saturday.
-
Surely if it was a simple case of AL not wanting Fane in the team for performance reasons, he would just tell Wellens not to pick him rather than prevent him from training ?
I'm sure the PFA would have something to say about a player being excluded from training completely just because the owner thought he had a bad game.
If he has been excluded from training completely I'd have to believe there must be some sort of breach of club discipline involved.

Jamie stott is getting very good reviews at Stockport County. I remember he got mom v Bolton this time last year when we won 1-0. Hoping he comes back knuckles down and gets in the team very highly rated at one time.
As loans to that level can be done outside the EFL window, presumably he can also be recalled outside the window too?
If that is the case it would seem sensible for the club to recall him now given the injury situation at the back.
-
According to Wellens on iplayer it's unlikely any of the injured players will be back.
Bryan is out for "a while".
He could possibly risk Gerrard but he might break down again and he wants to have him for as many of the remaining games as possible so doesn't want to risk him.
He says Wilson is "sore", could come back in to the squad but he sees him more as a right back than a centre half.
Edit: Just seen local press are reporting that Bryan is out for the season.

I wouldn’t read too much into that, I would imagine it’s just people getting new jobs. Broadly left ages ago anyway, and now has his own company and also as you say has a position at Southport, I don’t think he has as much time to spend at Latics now.
Broady has been 'hosting' the corporate hospitality this season (doing pre and post match interviews with various players, guests, man of the match etc). Presumably through his company. He wasn't there for the last game - Moisley did it.
However, if he's taken on a bigger role with Southport, it seems fair to assume that they might want him there on match days. As you say, most likely to be a case of people moving on to different careers/opportunities.
Neil Joy has been at most home games since the takeover went through. May be we might see him back in some capacity next season ? Or it may just be that Fylde's games haven't clashed with ours too much recently and he had some time to kill.

Your source was The Sun, so yeah, I'd question the reliability.

Er ... No it wasn't actually, but thanks for your contribution mate.
It was a player at another league 1 club.
Told me a few other interesting things too which I won't be sharing on here.

Were you told that today
Haha.
About 2 weeks ago. I see Nixon is saying they'e looking at Grayson for next year. Would have thought he'd rather stay at Bradford.
-
Not sure of the reliability of my source but I heard that Sheridan has only gone to Fleetwood to keep them up and there are no plans for him to stay on at the end of the season, regardless of where they finish. Apparently they'e lining up Joey Barton for the job in summer.
Shez has found himself a nice niche as a relegation avoidance specialist. He probably gets a very nice bonus if he's successful and ends up earning as much for working a third of a season as he would in a full season in a long term job.

I may have missed it but Did the club announce Snoddy officially or was it just social media talk?
There was an article in the programme for the MK Dons game saying that him and another Lemsagam (his brother, I think) had joined the board. Haven't seen an announcement on the website though.

If I'm reading it right it says there are only 3 active Directors left now -Lemsagam, Corney and Brooke.
But the club announced Paul Snoddy had joined, yet he's not listed, and they haven't announced Barry Or Ian Hill leaving.

Sure we could hire some heat lamps from city??
Plenty of places we could hire something (not necessarily lamps) from to get the pitch playable. Which would surely make more sense than buying, given we'd probably only use them 10 days or so a year on average.
I'm inclined to think that, despite the PR video, the club were not keen enough to get the game on to justify spending money on it. The manager is probably happy to play the game on a Tuesday night with Doyle available.

I'd imagine his definition of 'between' would be anywhere he can buy some cheap land within reasonable travelling distance.
