Is there an Unsworth in camp?

I was wondering wether someone should start the Unsworth In campaign. It's not like the fan base is forever divided. Let's balance it out.

WE WANT UNSWORTH IN, SAID WE WANT UNSWORTH IN. GIVE HIM A CHANCE YOU MISERABLE LOT.

He's only had one close season.

    He inherited a shit show.

He steered us away from relegation to mid-table.

He had a strong second half of the season.

We've had a huge turnover in the playing squad.

He has actually signed what seem to be some decent signings.

It takes time for it all to gel.

Everything went wrong in the build-up to Southend.

We're one win from the play-offs.

He is cleverly shifting expectation onto Chesterfield and away from our own team. If you can't see that, then you don't understand what a subtle man he is.

    He suffocated their attacking threat.

    Rhino ball is……leave that one.

    GET OFF HIS BACK.........

The problem with Nuttall is that however he plays he gets to start every match. He has generally been poor and yet other strikers don't get an opportunity. It's understandable that fans are frustrated.

I've been his biggest critic, but I have seen a change this season. It might be just me, it probably is, but he seems to be working harder. It was ridiculous putting him on the wing, but he put a shift in for the team.

He really frustrated me last season, but I'm more than happy to change my mind over him.

One of the most shameful post-match interviews I've seen from any manager, and that's saying something.

He expects Chesterfield to win the league - thanks, Dave.

He didn't really see the pitch invasion.

He thinks we got the draw that we deserved.

He whinges about referees again - we know they're not the best, get on with it.

I understand your sentiment. I was fuming during the game. I hate Rhino ball.

The comment about them winning the league can be seen in different ways.

He might not have seen the pitch invasion from ground level and all the activity around the goal.

We did deserve a draw. What did Chesterfield do to say they dissevered to win? Hudson didn't make a save and...

The referee was shit. That was a foul on Hogan. He's not a cheat. We also should've had a clear penalty on Tuesday. Referees have been shit.

So I understand what you're saying, but we might be a bit unfair, so I've tempered my view. Still, it's a shit style of football. It's not Royle ball, or Frizzell ball or even Dowie ball. It's painful.

Well they didn't need to if they were 1-0 up.  Of the two, they were still looked more likely because they had more of the ball.

Well, I was pissed off with that performance, but on reflection the game plan was to sit back, starve them of oxygen and then hit them on the break. Hudson had very little to do, unlike Norman last season. But, to play this way you need to counter with pace and passing accuracy. Apart from the odd surge by Kitching and that chance by Norwood, we failed miserably to provide any threat. But, again, we rarely looked in trouble. You can have all the possession in the world, but it means nothing if you can't create chances. So, on balance, a draw was about right.

Still, rhino ball is very difficult to watch. We are reflection of the manager when he was a player.

It's a direct comparison to the post I replied to.  Off course money buys you wins. History tells us it does,  the more you spend the bigger prizes it buys.

    Perfect comparison.

Wrexham won promotion because Hollywood stars pumped money in.

Stockport won promotion because their owner pumped money in.

It took both a couple of years, but, I agree, of course investing money helps. Weird to argue otherwise. It's what we've needed for....well, forever. However, you still need the right people to make it actually work. Frank's doing his bit.

The manager, however, has a lot to prove.

  6. So, if we sign him then the squad is:

    GK

    Norman

    Hudson

    FB

    Kitching

    Freeman

    CB

    Hogan

    Raglan

    Hobbs

    Sutton

    McGahey

    CM

    Lundstram

    Tunnicliffe

    Sheron

    Shelton

    Gardner

    WM

    Green

    Ward

    Tollitt

    Dickenson

    strikers

    Willoughby

    Reid

    Fondop

    Nuttall

    Norwood

Twenty-three players, plus, we still have Hope and Rooney.

That's a strong squad on paper, but it's weird that we only have two full-backs.

What's he supposed to do, sit there with a sad expression and dwell on the fact that it was a shit performance?

There's enough on here that will do that.

He should take his gillet off and flagellate in public while begging us all for an apology over and over again. Nothing else will suffice.

    1. Drop Norman and give Hudson a run

    2. Abandon this 352 (7-2-1) formation

    3. Get a new RB and DM/CM

    4. Play players in their right positions

    5. Ward played RW sometimes so he could interchange with Green.

    433

    Hudson

New RB - Hobson - Raglan - Kitching

Gardner - New CM - Lundstram

    Green - Norwood - Dickinson/Ward

    442

    Hudson

New RB - Hobson - Raglan - Kitching

Ward - Lundstram - New CM - Dickinson

    Norwood - Willoughby

I like the cut of your 442. Agree with the line-up. Looks like a decent team (assuming we get the new ones).

He will persist with it because he believes he is right, that it is the way to go with these players and he won't lose his job over it.

I thought he ideally wanted to set-up as 4-3-3 or am I dreaming that?

Has anyone noticed that he says things e.g. formation will be 433, we're not in for Willoughby, we'll sign a couple on loan, and then the opposite happens. Is he doing this deliberately or is he just changing his mind all the time? Perhaps he's just clueless...

I hate playing five at the back. We've rarely had success with it. It's very boring and negative. The only time it looked ok for a while was when Tony Henry played as a sweeper (what an underrated player he was).

  10. Why am I shocked that I'm shocked. After nearly 50 years, I really should know better.

I have always and will always hate playing five at the back. We were set-up to sit back! Why? It's not like we had pace to hit them on the counter. Let's play a young CB as a WB, not even as a RWB. Let's cripple his confidence. I mean, it's not as if we didn't know he can't play in that position. Dreadful tactics.

We started badly and finished abysmally. The bit in the middle wasn't great. Total lack of professionalism in that last ten minutes. Poor attitude. Compare with Southend. Got stuck in from start to finish. We got what we deserved.

The ref was utter and total shite.

Midfield is total shite. Said it for months, we need at least one more to play alongside Lundstrom.

I'm not going to single out Nuttall as he wasn't any worse than most of them. The two new signings from Thursday did ok, especially Dickenson. We'll soon beat that out of him.

Terrible all round from the rhino.
