Player of the year. Highly rated by the fans. Comes from Burnley, so he'd be coming closer to home. Started at United. I think, on the face of it, this would a cracking signing, much better than the lad at Halifax, who has played a relatively modest number of games in his career.

Expected to sign for us according to Twitter. A fair few Gateshead fans saying good luck at OAFC on their twitter feed. Read somewhere else we’d signed 4 players already, all of whom had already had all the photos taken etc. Not at all in the know, just relaying what I read from social media. Obviously take with a pinch of salt.

I think that was the most miserable Oldham hating Oldham fan out there. He was taking the piss saying the delay in announcing the players was because they'd had pictures taken wearing the new kit, so we had to wait for the kit launch. I mean he could be right, but he's a ridiculous individual who's been in Yorkshire too long.

Lucky to beat Chesterfield for one.

You name a team we were unlucky to lose to.Gateshead? LOL.

We did lose a lot of points in the last 10 minutes which we shouldn't have done, and we were unlucky at home against Wrexham. Gateshead were totally crap at home. So were Alty. But yes, we folded.

Having said that, they battered us at their place and totally deserved to stay up (comfortably in the end).

Rhino is right to focus on defence and organisation first. Make us difficult to beat (over 90+ minutes). It's a basic logical thing to do. Be organised. Be disciplined. Work your bollocks off. Have players with speed, players with physical strength, but all with stamina and mental strength. Then, the big difference with other teams (given many teams in this division tick many of these boxes) is technical ability. Wrexham were better on the physical side, Notts County on the playing side (it almost cost them). Parkinson will be sacked in two years, maximum. His style is strictly League Two or below.

After we get the basics in place, we can start to talk about improving as a football team. Get the foundations in place. I think this is what Rhino was trying to do.

On Rhino, I also think he had a lot to learn when he became manager. Hopefully, he has, to an extent, learnt. That last interview in the OT was much better than his early ones.

I'll give Rhino a proper chance next season, even though he really frustrated me at times.  It wasn't the easiest scenario to take over. Some expected instant results. That was stupid.

I’m not arsed what Dorking do or think they should do. And in reality the division shouldn’t be equalised. The best teams over the course of the season should go up, not someone who’s been average at best for the bulk of it but comes with a late run and nicks seventh place.

I’ve never liked them but It’ll never change and they have done a lot of good in keeping the season interesting for longer.

I suppose I’m still cursing the injustice of 1987.

The scars run deep, don't they. Robbed of promotion. People often forget what Joe did for us that season. Edwards is almost on a par with Hughes.

That said, I often wonder if it was a blessing in a disguise. The team that got promotion and was covered in great cup exploits was much better.

We should hopefully be pushing to 5k. I think the marketing has been good so far, clearly using Frank as much as possible.
I think it’s correct not to extend the early bird prices. They set a deadline and that’s that, no need to extend.
    Now sign Booty.

Why? I'd extend until the end of May. Some people might be paid at the end of the month and needed that extra wage packet to afford it.

    Yeah, really obvious. .. 😂🤦🏻‍♂️

Who is good enough to be so wanted by another club that they’ll pay a fee or offer a contract to an already contracted player- but who is also deemed surplus to requirements by us.

I’d say maybe Tollit- that’s it. One.

Who is going to come in for Gardener, Magehy, luetwiller, Windass, and Burgess? And pay them them more than we are when they’re not catching or injury prone. It doesn’t make sense.

Who came in for Maynard, Clarke, Angol, or Stobbs and offered them a contract? No one.

We could maybe shift them out on loan, but you’re still paying a percentage of their wage.

Theres no question it will be a large squad again.

Signed for Accrington? Really. Looked a proper donkey.

McGahey, Leutwiler, Windass, Burgess and possibly Hope need moving on out of the Contracted in players. I am sure Unsworth as told them they're surplus to requirements and instruct their agents to earn their money. Luamba isn't good enough.

Absolutely. Who on earth gave them such long contracts? Terrible decisions. They're all crap.
